Nightmarish experience: dilapidated, dirty and dangerous structure. To avoid!

I stayed at the Hotel Mozart in Brussels on May bridge with my sister and my friends. Despite the expectations created by the three stars on Booking, the misleading description and the photographs posted, the reality was staggering. What was supposed to be a peaceful holiday turned into a logistical and health nightmare, saved only by the company and beauty of the city.
SAFETY AND STRUCTURE: AN OUT-OF-THE-ORDINARY MAZE
• Dangerous lift: It is a refitted freight elevator, without an internal door (between one floor and another runs the exposed wall), with doors held together by tape. It can only carry two people and is clearly inadequate to minimum safety standards.
• Stairs and escape routes: The stairs (indicated as a fire escape route) are narrow, steep and with steps so short that they do not allow the entire sole of the foot to rest. In an emergency, they represent a trap, not an escape route.
• General condition: Crunchy wooden floors, peeling walls, narrow corridors and no ventilation. The structure is a maze of dusty tinsel.
CLEANING AND HYGIENE: UNACCEPTABLE LEVELS
• Allergies and Carpeting: The carpet throughout the hotel is old, smelly and dusty. For allergy sufferers, the air is unbreathable.
• Room and Bathroom: Under the bed I found waste from previous guests (handkerchief packs). The bathroom was blind and without a vacuum cleaner. During the stay cleaning was not carried out, but only towels were replaced and beds were made in a completely approximate way.
Bed with creaky bed base to such an extent that it disturbs night rest.
• Linen: Colorful sheets and cheap cotton (not suitable for a hotel) and synthetic fleece blankets that produced electrostatic sparks with every movement. The mattress was completely smashed in the middle.
COMFORT AND MICROCLIMATE
• Unlivable attic: We were on the fourth attic floor. Without air conditioning, the temperature was unbearable, electric radiator with plug dangling.
• Fumes: The bedroom window (with incomplete and dangerous railing) overlooked directly on the chimney of the restaurant below. We were forced to choose between the stifling heat or the nauseating smell of cooked and garlic invading the room.
BREAKFAST: ABSOLUTE HYGIENE SHORTAGE
The breakfast included was one of the worst experiences:
• No buffet or choice: dishes ready on the table upon arrival, exposed to contamination (sneezing, dust, bacteria), as the room gives directly onto the street with the door open.
• Jam in common bowls without lid and minimum portions (a piece of bread and a croissant).
• When asked for a simple slice of lemon for tea, we were told that they had none.
CONCLUSIONS
The only positive note is the excellent location, but this does not justify the cost, my sister and I shared a double at a cost of 550 euros x 3 nights, the state of total abandonment and the lack of respect for health and safety regulations. I very much doubt that such a facility would have the permits to practice. I strongly advise against staying unless you want to risk your health and safety.
Note: I have photographic material to support what has been stated.

A nightmare in the heart of Brussels

Weekend of May 1 with friends.
Booked two single rooms and one double at this hotel in the heart of Brussels.
The location was only positive note.
Let's start by saying that the rooms were on the fourth floor and rather than elevator we found ourselves climbing via a freight elevator.
Wanting to use the stairs they were steep and inaccessible narrow.
My room was placed under the roof and had an inadequate window with a curtain held by a string, needless to say full of dust. The view was on a terrace whose railing was interrupted at three / quarters of the terrace leaving a precipice on the street below.
Sockets next to the bedside table: one burned and one detached from the wall.
Peeled wall in several places in the room. Sheets absolutely not suitable for a hotel, red fleece cover that produced sparks especially in contact with the dirty and smelly carpet of the floor. The latter of creaky wood that at every step produced sinister noises.
The door to the room had cracks of at least half an inch... the tiny bathroom with a pipe coming out of the shower and connected to the toilet.
Linoleum bathroom floor with stains in several places. In the shower I found a long dark hair...I have 1 centimeter long hair.
Bathroom never clean. Only towels were changed
The bed was made two days out of 3.
The TV was hanging on the wall with a dangling wire that had no sockets to attach it to so unusable.
Not present air conditioning and under roof made a crazy heat
There is an electric radiator.
Breakfast absolutely out of every hygienic norm. In the morning when you went down on the table there was already a saucer with bread and a croissant that I do not know who had put... certainly not the poor customers who were already on the plate these two foods.
Jam not in disposable tubs but in bowls placed one in each table uncovered available to all diners and also to any sneers or whatever.
Last but not least... still the keys with the keychain!!!!!! Hygiene is completely non-existent.
Overlook the huge amount of furniture and fake flowers full of dust....

The definition of an "okay" hotel. A little old, very dusty with an awkward layout. Not recommended if you can't do stairs (our room had stairs on the inside the room as well as being located in the middle of a stairwell).
But it's charmingly themed and very very central.

I'll start with the good stuff-- the staff was pleasant, the owner was super friendly, helpful and a joy to interact with. The decor was over-the-top Persian, antique-like and whimsical. It was like being in your grandmother's home-- it was very kitschy but inviting. It truly made me smile. I thought the property was very much central to the city; great location just minutes from the train station and all of the major attractions, restaurants and shops. It was very affordable. The room was spacious enough for me and my friend-- and I appreciated having a private bathroom.
I say this because it wasn't obvious that we would, in fact, have our own bathroom (moving to the not-so-good stuff)...this very much felt like a brothel or hostel. It was tethering on grimy...dark, dirty carpets, uncomfortable mattresses and pillows, worn out linens. The room gave a smell of musky/dusty/old. Our TV did not provide any working channels. I didn't see any bugs with my eyes, but I kept anticipating it.
The biggest disappointment was there is no air conditioning (it was a hot June day) so we were forced to sleep with the window open which faced the busiest street. This meant late night shouting (World Cup matches being watched at the restaurants along the street) and early morning VERY LOUD trucks cleaning the streets, picking up trash and delivering goods to nearby restaurants (I am talking about starting at 5:00AM). We had room 122. I did not sleep well. I also wouldn't stay here again...
