Good location, clean parc
Clean accommodation and Parc in great location. Lots to do, although good weather would help. Easy to get to Brugges and coast.
Book bikes in advance, none available when we arrived.
System efficient with minimal staff which might mean it felt a bit lacking a holiday vibe.

Good Family Break, but Not Quite What We Expected
This was our first time at Center Parcs, and we stayed at Park De Haan. We really liked the location. It was only a 9-minute drive to the beach, which was really nice, and around a 30-minute drive to Bruges City Centre.
Center Parcs De Haan itself was quite nice. The Market Dome is the main activity hub and is quite picturesque and cosy. The kids absolutely loved the Aqua Mundo water park and couldn’t seem to get enough of it!
That being said, I felt that the free activities within the park were quite limited. There were lots of paid activities, but they were quite expensive and not really worth the price.
We stayed in a Comfort Cottage, which was quite spacious, with four bedrooms. There was one bedroom downstairs that we didn’t use as it was too far away from the rest of our party. The living area, kitchen and dining room were open-plan and very spacious. However, there was no storage space in the kitchen for food, we had to leave these out on the dining table.
However, the condition of the cottage could have been better. Some of the floor tiles were broken and had been taped over, which wasn’t particularly appealing. There were also cobwebs around the bedroom windows, including a thick spider web/nest, which made the cottage feel like it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned before our arrival. The bathroom had this lingering smell of urine that was off-putting.
Service was non existent. I also don’t feel that it was quite right to pay as much as we did for accommodation where we had to bring our own bedding and towels. We literally had to bring all our bedding, make the beds ourselves, buy toilet rolls, clean the cottage daily ourselves during our stay, and then pack everything up at the end of our stay.
I noticed that it was quite quiet at the accomodation despite the number of famillies that were staying at the park when we were there. This was nice, because I liked waking up to the sound of nature.
For the price we paid, I would have expected at least some of these things to be included as part of the overall cost, or for the expectations to be made clearer before booking.
Overall, we had a nice time, particularly because the kids really enjoyed Aqua Mundo and we loved being so close to the beach and Bruges. However, I’m not completely sure whether we would return.

Ok as a base to explore the coast
The parc itself is very clean as is the pool area. The accommodation needs complete overhaul though. Ours was clean on arrival but smelt of damp, decorations are very tired and the water pressure is non existent. It's much better to wash your hair at the pool showers! However, the beds were surprisingly comfortable and we could fully open upstairs windows which was great. The cottages are tiny compared to parcs in the UK.
Two pool slides were broken but they did fix one on our last day.
We ate twice in the Italian restaurant, food and service were good.
The sports bar was lovely and cool and bar staff very friendly. We enjoyed the free board games.
It's a nice walk through the woods to the beach and tram stop. Lots of stairs up to the beach, worth the climb as the beach is really lovely!
Overall we enjoyed our stay but mainly used it as a base for exploring the Belgian coast and didn't spend all day on site. Wouldn't return until the accommodation is upgraded.

Not the center parks we know
A real disappointment. There is mismanagement going on here as the maintenance of the accomodation by the reviews is systematically failing. We are seasoned center parcs in the UK visitors and wanted to try one abroad. The premium lodge was dark, it smelled of smoke and dog. There was a rug that absolutely stank and er had to throw it outside I. The first day. Some really simple decorating would have helped. Nowhere to store your groceries. Felt like a cheap grotty Butlins. The pool was reasonably fun however the slides were permanently out of order, we never saw them running. We just went round and round the rapids. Absolutely not worth the money and the standard of the accomodation was not befitting the center parcs brand.

Don't bother going!
Went with an open mind after reading reviews but I'm afraid to say the reviews are right! Not for us! The premium cottage had scuffs and marks all over the walls. The staircase had paint chipped off it everywhere. They don't even give you so much of a brush to sweep up! You could just about fit in the toilet, it was teeny! We had three bedrooms if that's what you called two of them anyway. They are so small and have sloping ceilings so a real squash. The supermarket is pretty well stocked but an absolute rip off. We paid a lot for 4 nights and spent lots in the supermarket and bar however they even had the cheek to refuse my son a glass of tap water saying the manager wouldn't allow it! Sorry but Centre Parcs must earn so much money so they need to start putting some back into the site for paying customers. Will definitely not go again however I have to say the people that work there are delightful!
