We found our favorite spot to stay in Placencia.
This was our 3rd trip to Placencia and this time we found our place. It is affordable, clean, has helpful staff, is on the beach, and walking distance to all of the restaurants, bars, and shops. Definitely a laid back island vibe. The room was cute, clean, and well maintained. The price was reasonable, in fact cheap compared to US beach resorts. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Placencia.

Pleasant property on beach
The location is wonderful and right on the beach. And boardwalk. The issue is that it is not accessible without having to haul all your luggage to and from the main street.. which seems really far while youre hauling luggage in heat !They really should provide wheel barrow or a better way for this. The young lady at reception did get up early and helped us,when we left carry bags to the street but that was only after saying there must be a,better way.. The room itself was lovely and very clean and comfy. One issue is,the ac that is controlled by Alexa and cannot be,set to comfort and is set at 75 degrees,which is just too hot at nighttime. First place in all of belieze that had limited ac..The ice machine is a nice touch! Wouldn't recommend staying anywhere here on the beach during sargassum season. Not a fault of this or any hotel of course... It was not as bad as san pedro but bad enough the sea was inaccessible... and from the beach the rotting smell was at times pretty yucky. We didnt use the pool.. the off putting smell of rotting sargassum partly... and also it was not all that inviting . No one asked how our stay was going or acknowledged we were there for the most part.... the lady at reception was helpful and had the nicest best taxi driver take us to dinner and to the airport. Taxi driver excellent !

We would like to add a little context regarding luggage access. Ocean Breeze is located directly on the beach and pedestrian boardwalk in the heart of Placencia Village. Like many beachfront properties within the village, there is no vehicle access directly to our door, so there is a short walk from the main road.
It is one of the trade-offs of staying in the village. Guests can stay along the main road with easier vehicle access, stay directly on the beach and enjoy the oceanfront setting while being able to walk almost everywhere in the village, or stay farther outside the village where parking may be easier but transportation is generally needed to get around. We chose the beachfront, walkable experience, but we absolutely understand that carrying luggage in the Belize heat isn't much fun! We can certainly do a better job of proactively offering luggage assistance on arrival and departure.
We would also like to clarify the comment regarding the air conditioning. Our rooms are not restricted to 75°F at night. The 75°F setting is part of our daytime energy-saving system. During the evening and overnight, guests are free to adjust the temperature to their comfort, including into the high 60s if they choose. We’re sorry if this wasn't clear during your stay, as we certainly don't want guests thinking their nighttime air conditioning is restricted.
Unfortunately, sargassum can seasonally affect beaches throughout Belize and the Caribbean, and as you mentioned, this is outside the control of individual hotels. We completely understand how particularly heavy sargassum can affect the enjoyment of the beach.
Most importantly, we appreciate your comment that you didn't feel sufficiently acknowledged during your stay. With only eight rooms, we want Ocean Breeze to feel personal and welcoming, and this is an area where we can do better.

Such a great stay, when can I return?
Stayed at Ocean Breeze in July 26, what a great place!
Placencia itself - picturesque beaches and fantastic restaurants & bars, and with easy access to the barrier reef and the jungle for day trips.
Ocean Breeze, cool, informal hotel, just a few steps away from the beach (via the tiki bar) and just off Placencia sidewalk. We stayed in Marlin suite, lots of space with a large kitchen living area; very comfortable sofa/sofabed, big screen TV, full kitchen complete with everything you need. Bedroom had plenty of storage and hanging space, big comfortable bed, walk-in shower in the en-suite. Everything thoughtfully designed.
The hotel staff were so welcoming and friendly; Carla and Nadia at the front desk helped us to arrange trips, Mel and Marlyn serving the beers and making awesome rum cocktails at the bar, good to know each night that Roy and Antonio kept an eye out for us, and the room was kept spotlessly clean and tidy by the housekeepers Steph (&Mel and Nadia).

The Ocean Breeze Beach Resort Experience
Had a wonderful time at Ocean Breeze Beach Resort! Staff is wonderful and very accommodating. The owners of the hotel are kind and nice and are there for your every need. The bar ( Toucan Jacks) that is part of the hotel makes the best drinks and the food is delicious too. Enjoyed the Pineapple Daiquiri’s!! Waking up to that beautiful Caribbean Sea every morning outside our balcony was such a delight!!!! We never wanted to leave. We loved the great view of the Snook Room, and always a nice breeze to enjoy! Will come back again!!!

Relaxing and friendly
Fabulous location in Placencia, friendly staff who are always happy to help. Cabana's are relaxing , comfortable and well stocked. Recommendations for local excursions and eateries were useful also.
