Fine Hotel, very good restaurant & great Jungle Lodge
Last day lunch is included on the last day for Lodge guest, as the timing works to catch the (daily) plane out of Alta Floresta. (flight departs @ 2 PM)
The Lodge is pricey, naturally its bar is the 'profit center.' (middle of the ocean beer prices...)
Unfortunately, this mentality carries over to the Hotel. A simple beer is not included in one' parting lunch prior to departing. Expect to be charged for (naively) ordering a beer w/ your lunch.
The entire operation is well managed, the staff is carefully selected & trained. One cannot go wrong eating & staying at the Hotel & Jungle Lodge.
I heartily reccomned bothe the Hotel, its restaurant & the Jungle Lodge.

Hotel with it's own bit of forest!
The rooms are good with a fridge, a/c, shower has good supply of hot water. The pool is clean with plenty of shade cover. Breakfast is buffet style, plenty of choice with homemade yoghurt. Dinner was made interesting by only being ble to order for 2 people at a time! Lunch menu was ok but depended on choice, catfish was fine but vegetable burgeer was not. Depending on which staff are working the service in the restaurant was good or slow.

Between airport and city, surrounded by forest
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel, located but a few minutes drive from the airport (no problem since there are very few flights) and city (problem: you need a taxi to eat anywhere but in the hotel restaurant). The layout of the hotel is spacious and the garden with pool and lots of flowers very well maintained. The backdrop is a piece of forest, so there are lots of birds and other animals that can be seen in the hotel grounds.
The reception staff were helpful and friendly, some spoke English. The room was basic but spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, the air con working well and warm water was available 24h. A table and wifi (not always stable, and rather slow - my colleague had no wifi in her room, in the reception area the connection is more stable and faster) made it possible to get some work done.
The restaurant served excellent food, especially the meat and fish dishes were very tasty, and portions ample. Serving time was good. Breakfast was rich but nothing special as concerns taste.
Trails in the forest invite you to explore the forest and watch birds, the reception will also arrange for a guide if you wish so.

AMAZONICA
Close to the airport in Alta Floresta, and surrounded by thick forest with lots of birds and animals. Walking trails throughout make it easy to get to see them. Good restaurant for breakfast and dinner; Swimming pool.

Owned and run by same family as Cristalino Lodge
We spent one night at this hotel before proceeding on to the Cristalino Jungle Lodge. Both this hotel and the lodge are owned and run by the same family, which has been in the business here for generations. We actually settled our bills for the Lodge here on our return.
We were met at the Alta Floresta airport by a charming young man who spoke English with a California accent, a nice surprise. We drove to the hotel in the same van that would take us to the Lodge the next day.
The hotel is not as impressive as the lodge (reviewed separately) but is very nice. We wandered the grounds in the evening and early morning, finding several species of Parrots and other birds in the area.
The food at the hotel was excellent, but not as creative in using local ingredients as at the Lodge. Dinner was traditional, ordered from a menu with copious portions. We ate lunch on Sunday during our return trip. That meal featured a buffet that I liked better.
Service was outstanding. WiFi was solid and fast, even in the room, but better in the lobby.
This is the best option if you, like our group, was not able to get rooms at the Cristalino Lodge on the day of our arrival.
The pool was open and large enough for a good swim. However, some construction going on in the area detracted from the ambiance of the pool area.
