new owner need time to bring all forward - but he is on a very good way.

the pousada has not much suites and rooms.
style of pousada is several houses in top of the hill with a beautyfull view over the bay of buzios.
the new owner was in stage of renovation. (feb 2015)
the garden already has been reworked.
the appatements are in stage of re-newing.
some are ready and realy nice. ( 100% renovation - new bathroom- new electric, new aircondition - clima, flat screen, etc )
compliments to martinho and the director dede.
very nice and helpful also is signora anne at the reception.
breakfast is served on an roof protected terasse.
breakfast is good , staff is friendly and helpful.
have earl grey tea ...
if you have questions - please contact them , you will get a help.
the location is quiet and you will have a very omfortable sleep.
we stay in season of carneval for 9 days .
i have had a problem with my bus ticket back to rio de janeiro.
director dede solved it very quickly. everthing works well.
of course we will be back.

You have been warned!

We had an appalling experience, which led us not to be able to stay. The owner is racist, aggressive in his manner and dishonest. He sowed us to our room which was not clean. The bed sheets had not been changed from the previous people and the towels dirty. The only glass was covered in toothpaste. He said the wifi didn't work cos it was raining?! The air con made a noise but nothing else.
When we complained about the room being dirty, instead of apologising he became aggressive. He offered us another room for more money. We had to leave in order to diffuse the situation, and he has refused to return our 50% deposit. Very nasty. Avoid this place at all costs.

Bad experience, I do not recommend staying here

This place is definitely more like a hostel than a hotel and almost nothing works. Things that didn't work in our room:
-no hot water
-toilet did not flush
-TV in room did not work at all
-WiFi only worked in the breakfast area
-air conditioning also did not work, and was very loud
-they do not change the sheets every day
There is also close to no privacy in the double rooms. Every morning the people staying next to us would walk out and could see completely into our room. You could also hear everything between the 2 rooms.
The beds are also awful. Very thin and uncomfortable. The place has a nice view, which you see only when you are at breakfast. Usually all the workers are there at breakfast too, so if you are looking for something private, I do not recommend this place. The place is also located on a hill, so if you like to go out to dinner or out on the town, beware of the big hill you have to climb going back. Many taxis will overcharge you to bring you there, especially if you are a foreigner. We let them know about the hot water, wifi and toilet problems, and no one fixed anything. I would have much rather stayed a cheaper hostel than this place or would have paid 20 bucks extra a night for a nicer place.

Georgeous view, Flintstone beds

The first thing I noticed about this hostel was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, and of course the view, however the services were seriously lacking so I can't in all sincerity give it a good rating. The bed was very uncomfortable and hard as a rock, there was just a box spring, no mattress, resulting in a poor sleep both nights. The glass balcony door did not shut or lock, there was no wastebasket in the room, and I had to ask for soap. The room was clean when I arrived, but after the "cleaning" the first day there was hair everywhere, so it looked like they had dragged in someone else's dirt by using the same cloth. The internet didn't function at all in my room so I was forced to cancel online classes I was scheduled to teach. The small flat screen TV had blurry reception with only 3 channels, two in Portuguese and one in German. Breakfast could use a little freshening, the only fresh fruit, a small plate of fresh papaya, looked like it had been around a few days, as did the cake. The hostel is located up a very steep hill and of course there are lots of stairs, so for people with mobility problems this hostel isn't a good choice. The hostel told me a taxi to the city centre would be 8 reais, in fact it was 15 one way so unless you have a car it's going to be costly. There are better places to stay closer to the beach where you can go back and forth throughout the day without paying a small fortune.

Great view.. That's about it

Where to start.. The name does live up to its intention.. As the view over Buzios from the Pousada is incredible.. However, there's nothing more to it. My room (room 9) was comfortable but in dire need of TLC and a good clean. Lots of ants in the room a dead cockroach which was not removed during my stay. Very dirty bathroom with a fosset which turned completely when you tried to open the tap. The walls are very thin and I could hear Everything going on in my neighbors room.. Do not stay at this pousada unless you have a car, it really is on a steep hill and taxis in Buzios are expensive.. The staff were friendly, just a pity that the place isn't looked after well enough.
