A honeymoon in the best style
Unforgettable. The place is magical and the staff are attentive. The price of the accommodation was fair and the fact of having covered and private parking shows safety.

Simple apartment, clean, but the main advantage is its location just meters away from the beach

They should strive and invest if they do not want to disappear.
Deceptive. It's not what they show you.
*The air conditioning worked fine.
*Very small room. With feeling of confinement (despite the balcony)
*The kitchen dirty, with grease stains on the wall.
*The stove all rusty and dirty.
*The basin was also stained and the water was not circulating. Covered up all the time.
* The fridge was the worst. Old, rusty and smelly. It was disgusting to put something in there. And the bed so close to the fridge that I was disgusted to sleep there so close to that filth.
*The old mattress. Very worn and bloodstained I suppose (see photo).
*The finite pillows recounter worn.
* Double bed girl and even smaller sheets. They'd come out and you'd end up touching the disgusting mattress.
*Cheap towels of poor quality and worn back counter.
* They do not change or replace anything.
We had to go out the first day to walk through that favela to find a market to buy cleaners and disinfectants and rags to clean the whole room because it was disgusting.
*There's not even a rag on the floor or in the kitchen
*From the hose to clean when you go to bath to do your needs comes a putrid smell that makes you nauseous.
* The bathroom mirror all dirty. And with old man marks.
* The WIFI in the room lousy. It never hooks. (when you go to claim you are told... "here at the reception works well."
* The TV went out all the time. When you go to claim they tell you.....it's by air, it's cut...
*The pool. One of the reasons we chose the place..... We didn't even get in. The water sucks. The terrace is nice but the atmosphere is disgusting. Dirty. They leave the things people eat there lying around.
*Noisy place. In front of it is an ice factory and there is noise from an engine or I don't know what and the workers scream all the time.
*Early in the morning you hear screams of people accommodating cars, those carrying cars, and I don’t know who else. You can't sleep.
*The elevator works (but it is dirty). We'd rather use the ladder.
The area:
Arraial Do Cabo has a rescueable (normal) area that is close to Praia Dos Anjos (where the boats come from).
The area where Varandas ao Mar is located is like a favela. Literal. Terrible. Dirty. Rubbish everywhere. The smell of sewage is appalling.
The local people intimidate. Cars and especially motorcycles speed you to millimeters and against hand.
Luckily there is quite a presence of military police because the place is scary.
The beach:
Praia Grande (which is where Varandas is located) is beautiful like all the beaches of Arraial do Cabo. The water of this icy but super crystal clear beach.
Dirty as everything in Arraial (waste left by people and no one cleans).

It's not a hotel or a guest house, it's residential
The establishment is NOT a hotel, nor a guest house, it is residential, so there is no room cleaning service, you will be all your stay without changing towels, sheets, no bathroom cleaning or sweeping the floor.
In case you mention anything the receptionist made it clear that they are not responsible and that you solve by zap.
As for the kitchen, there are no utensils, no pots, only 2 dishes and 2 cups.
The restaurant is not part of the establishment, so if you arrive late there is nowhere to eat, you have to buy out.
The mattress is not in condition, as the springs are defeated.
Good location!

Varandas ao Mar
While the location is unbeatable, right in front of the beach where the sun sets (a really beautiful view), the accommodation leaves quite a lot to be desired in many respects. It is important to clarify that it is not a hotel or a pousada, but a kind of aparthotel with small rooms, some with balcony and kitchen included.
One of the first drawbacks is that it has no restaurant or dining room. In the pool area there is a bar where they sell some drinks and snacks, but it is not enough if you expect a gastronomic service within the establishment.
Rooms include the basics: some small soaps, a shampoo, a rinse cream, two large towels, one face and one medium, plus a set of sheets and some utensils in the kitchen. However, here the problems begin.
The mattress is a mess, with one half medium acceptable and the other with the springs completely destroyed. The quality is really bad and affects rest. In addition, there are no items for cleaning the room and the establishment also does not perform daily hygiene. If a change of towels is needed, you have to pay an additional cost, which is quite uncomfortable if you stay for several days (imagine being 15 days with the same towels).
Although the rooms have kitchenettes, there are not enough utensils for cooking, which limits their usefulness quite a bit. As for the extra beds, the cuchetes have mattresses similar to those used in campsites, thin and uncomfortable.
Another negative is attention. Upon check-in, the receptionist clarified that if there was any problem with the room, the hotel would not take care of it directly and that any inconvenience should be reported by WhatsApp. This generates a great feeling of helplessness for guests.
In conclusion, the location is the only thing really remarkable, but the service and conditions of the accommodation leave much to be desired. While the view is beautiful, there are better options in the area, such as Praia dos Anjos.
