The worst night
Despite having confirmed with them beforehand that I would not have problems entering the hostel in the early morning, I could not access the room as it had been occupied by another person. I sent a WhatsApp message that they did not respond to until 9 in the morning when I mentioned the problem to the cleaning person (it was supposed that someone would be attending from 7 in the morning). I spent the entire night lying on an uncomfortable sofa in the common area (a semi-covered space with a metal roof) with the misfortune that it rained heavily that night and it was cold; additionally, that space had permanent lighting. When they contacted me, they first said they would refund the money I had paid, and then, when they saw that I had already made a negative comment on Booking and Google, they changed their mind and told me they would not do it. According to what the people staying there told me, there is no one at the entrance; they operate through WhatsApp.

Watch Out for Bed Bugs at Esquina 8 Hostel!
Headed to Esquina 8 Hostel in Florianópolis thinking we'd save some cash, but boy, were we in for a surprise. Here's the lowdown on our stay:
What we thought vs. what we got: Thought we'd chill for two nights, but after one night of being bed bug buffet, we were out.
Bite fest: Left the place with 120 bites. Felt like I was the main dish at a bug party.
Cheap upfront, costly later: The price might seem good at first, but after dealing with bed bugs, you'll be paying more for cleaning your clothes or even tossing some out.
Dealing with management was a headache: They tried to move us to another room (like that would help) and then made the refund process super complicated. We had to argue with them, then talk to booking.com, and only got half our money back. The hostel folks didn't even bother to clear things up.
So, if you're not into sharing your room with bugs and dealing with weird refund rules, maybe skip Esquina 8. It might look like you're saving money, but it's not worth the hassle.

The worst service of Florianópolis!
Bad experience, especially for the service.
If you're not bothered with a bad service, if you're looking for a place where they'll make you beg to cancel, this is the perfect place.

The worst hostel I have ever seen in my life
Terrible place, fake photos, they treat you badly, dirty, it's a scam, a rat pigsty, a place like this shouldn't exist, unsafe, hanging electrical connections, bare wires, there is no one responsible for the place, they only respond via whatsapp and very late

Filthy, lousy, deplorable place, Corner 8 comfort. Don't go to that place, not even for free.
Filthy place, lousy, deplorable attention, dirty, with hanging cables, dirty sheets, they deliver the room late, they charge incorrect charges, do not stay there, having paid, I had to leave at night, since I could not resist, so Terrible place, besides being a dangerous place, full of homeless people. I never imagined that they could lie so much in the photos, the ones they publish are fake photos. They should close a place like this
