Great location and stay

Hotel well located and with great service, friendly staff. Comfortable room and with everything necessary for a good stay, comfortable bed, good pillows, all very well clean and excellent air conditioning.

Absolute disappointment

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was very disappointing. At first I had to change rooms due to a faulty air conditioning. In the second room, however, I could not turn off the air conditioning. The biggest annoyance, however, was the doorman who slept in a hotel room at 04:00 in the morning instead of doing his duties. The hotel advertises a 24-hour concierge service, but in my case this was not met. It wasn't until 5:30 that the doorman let me in after he finally woke up.
Such behaviour is absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. Despite the circumstances, I have not received any compensation for this inconvenience. The hotel owner reacted unkindly and said that I should not exaggerate as I had not been robbed. Such a response to legitimate complaints is unacceptable to me and is a very poor service.
In light of these experiences, I will take legal action through my credit card insurance. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing stay and I cannot recommend this place under the circumstances.

The hotel has some pros:
- The rooms are nice and well equipped (mini-fridge, a/c)
- The rooms are cleaned every day.
- There is a metro station very close.
- Escadaria de Saleron, the Cathedral and Flamengo beach are not far.
- The most of the reception staff are nice.
And some cons:
- The hotel is located in a poor area with not too many nice bars or restaurants.
- The breakfast is too basic.
- The shower is not well built and everything gets full of water if you don’t pay attention.

Basic hotel in an old area

The rooms are very plain and basic with no hair dryer or kettle but they do have an effective aircon, fridge and modern safe that can take a small laptop. The shower-room must be the smallest I have seen with a tiny basin. Large people will not be able to turn around in the shower. Staff at the front desk were helpful and spoke some English. Breakfast was good with a buffet with a range of options, although they were the same every day. The Gloria metro station was just around the corner and the restaurant Gregora down the road is worth a visit.

Dark and Gloomy

The location was great but - the room was tiny, we had paid for a twin room and got one tiny single and a set of bunks. The bathroom is one of the smallest (and we have seen small before) we have had. The room was dark and gloomy. The staff were fine and breakfast on a par with others - toast, fresh fruit, cake, cheese, cured meat etc. For one night it was adequate.
