Excellent structure - poor customer service
The Eco Island guesthouse provides an incredible experience of connection with nature. The landscape is lush, with a lot of green around and a variety of birds, including beech-flower and maritacas that are close to the forest. This was the main reason why I chose this hostel, and in this regard, the experience was impeccable. The owner had an excellent taste in designing the space in order to preserve nature. A thousand notes for that aspect!
The booking made by the website indicated that I would stay in the Comfort Double Room with Balcony, but, upon arrival, I was accommodated in a ground floor room. Also, I realized that all the rooms had grid, except mine. This difference between what was reserved and what was delivered caused some frustration.
Care was the most negative point of the experience. The main receptionist, Ketlen (I think that's the name), demonstrated an extremely flattered and passive-aggressive behavior, being indirectly hostile. Even before the trip, when I contacted to confirm the reservation, I was already treated with grossness via WhatsApp.
During my stay, I noticed that the atmosphere at breakfast was extremely unpleasant, as Ketlen made negative comments about the hostel owner, Danilo, in the presence of the guests. Some of his speeches included:
"I already told him to hire another person, I don't take care of everything and he doesn't take it seriously."
"I know I have several complaints asking me to be friendly, but to be me I need to at least have a proper rest."
"Not even there, I'm really talking, what will he do? Send me away? Thank you!"
That was extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing. I am also a CLT employee and would never treat clients badly because of internal problems with management. If Ketlen has issues with your boss, you should solve them directly with him, and do not make the hostel environment unpleasant for guests. A professional and respectful attitude would make a difference to the visitor experience.
The safety of the hostel left much to be desired. Access is made through a card, allowing entry and exit at any time. However, there is no responsible on site for monitoring. If any guest forgets the open gate, anyone can enter, which represents a risk.
The Wi-Fi connection is very unstable, falling off frequently. To get a signal, it was necessary to walk through space, which was quite inconvenient.
The guesthouse is located in a street with no exit, but by car is close to Praia do Perequê, which has great restaurants, markets and academies. The location is a positive point.
Breakfast is simple, but meets the basics. However, I felt a lack of options for vegan people, as well as alternatives for those who have dietary restrictions, such as lactose intolerance or allergies.
The pool is very well kept and is surrounded by trees, making the environment very beautiful. However, there is a problem: the opening hours go until 21:00, but at night the place is extremely dark, making it impossible to use the pool at this time due to lack of proper lighting.
I traveled in a couple and felt that the hostel is quite welcoming for couples and families. The environment is extremely quiet, and at night, the only sound you hear is that of nature. For those looking for tranquility, it is a great option. However, for groups of friends who want a more lively environment, it may not be the best choice.
Conclusion: The Eco Island guesthouse has a privileged location and provides a unique experience of contact with nature, which is its greatest strength. However, problems related to service, security and infrastructure negatively impacted the stay. If the main destination is a natural haven, it may be worth it, but it is important to be aware of these issues before booking.

My cantinho in Ilhabela!!
Cozy place, quiet, the only noise is from nature itself, place to completely disconnect, although if you need the internet works very well.
Rooms clean, the whole guesthouse is very well taken care of. Very good breakfast, in the company of the birds who love to visit the hostel! If you want a mixed sheep just ask that it is prepared with all the affection by Juci or Carol! Juices and cake vary every day and has a home yogurt that is unavoidable!! I love this place, it's my little corner in Ilhabela!

Excellent service and place to rest!
A great place to rest and great location! We had breakfast with the birds and we received a great service from the reception, WhatsApp, the kitchen girls very nice and welcoming! I will definitely be back and super recommend!

Good Wi-Fi in the rooms. The breakfast is simple, but very tasty and the girls in the kitchen are very attentive. The reception is sometimes empty, a problem if you need something. It would be great if there was a small area for card games, dominos, etc., in case of rainy days, like all week, like when we were there.

Horrible experience- disappointment.
Terrible, poor service, basic cleaning, NO working Wi-Fi, basic coffee, nothing special, mainly options as it is a holiday inn, nothing normal. Dirty pool. I don't recommend it. They don't even have employees. We need to keep looking for him. Only via WhatsApp. How embarrassing!
