Business trip
I was left with a great impression of the hotel! I was traveling on business and had reserved a room in advance. The receptionists were very kind and correct. I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy room, it was warm, as they loaded coffee, tea, mineral water, even a croissant. The only downside may be that there is no elevator and for someone with heavier suitcases would be a problem and the other is that there is no heating was provided in the bathroom. All anti-epidemic measures with disinfectant, masks and additional safety glasses at the reception were observed.

Nice family weekend
Excellent quality / price ratio. Location in the old town center in an old but renovated building. Large room with kitchenette, suitable for small children. The hotel does not have an elevator. The bathroom does not have a separate shower so the water is all over .The parking is behind the hotel, it is not arranged but it is ok. You can pay with the credit card. Free WIFI that worked very well. The person at the reception was very kind. You can find lots of coffee shops nearby.

One night in Shumen
The location could not be better, as the hotel is just in the heart of the city, right on a pedestrian street. If you come by car, just a few stairs away there is parking possibility, and having the sign from hotel, it will be for free. This is not guarded parking, but safe, as you park just 50m from the police station... The staff is polite, helpful and they speak english. There is no elevator, lift, so you have to climb some stairs, and there was no bellboy to support. The room where I stayed was cosy, spacious, clean, with AC and wi-fi connection. The bathroom was also okay. I read previous reviews, so I think the hotel was refurnished and renewed as everything smells new. There was a minibar too. The breakfast is sg like a light continental breakfast, with veggies and some meat. I would recommend this hotel to business travellers, young couples and even for families. For travellers who cannot climb the stairs there are other options in the city.

Acceptable hotel in the center of the city. But only the apartments looking the pedestrian street.
Position
The hotel is in the pedestrian zone of the city. Easy to find with taxi. If You are by car in front of the hotel there is public parking, but the hotel provides you with a ticket for free parking during all your stay. Obviously other public transport is out of questions
Externals
As seen in the photo, the hotel is a relative old structure looking with some of the rooms over the pedestrian street. I personally consider those rooms best, even if there is a little more noise from the passing people. Fortunately no noisy bars or restaurants with music close to the hotel.
Reception
Practically you have to cross a long corridor where at nits end you will wind a small reception. A little bit deluding and giving the impression of very low quality hotel. But the personal is friendly and efficiently contributes to reduce that negative impressions.
No elevators, so prepare to climb the scale with all your luggage. So better the rooms on first flour.
Stuff
In 10 days I saw four members of the personal, that were 2 boys alternating the nigh shifts and two ladies covering the daily shifts. Probably, there must be some cleaning laddies, because I always in the afternoons found my room/apartment well cleaned. Anyway the overall my impression is that the personal is kind.
Room
I had the room 102 which in fact is a double room apartment with small kitchen and very beautiful balcony exactly over the pedestrian street. Two chairs and a small table in the balcony helped me to pass more quickly the evenings, of course with the company of good wine Rosè.
The apartment was relatively well furnished. I mean there was everything that you need. Have to say that surprisingly everything was quite clean.
In the bed room there was a comfortable double bed, a wardrobe, a desk, a flat-panel TV and air-condition. The guest room consists of a wide room with furniture sofa, TV, air-condition, dinning table with some chairs and a small kitchen.
Bathroom
The bathroom was relatively wide. But there is no separate bath. In the wall there was a shower and obviously when taking bath everything becomes wet. As every where in the Europe also in Shumen - no bidet.
Room external
From the balcony in the bedroom and from the two windows in the guest room you can see several nice architectural structures in front of the hotel and in the afternoon the people walking without any rush. And all this while you are siting on you balcony.
Food
The breakfast was included and was served in the basement. There was a small lobby with several tables. The person serving you was the boy from the night shift. Any way the breakfast was always continental one without the risk to become overweight.
Final comment
The only way to stay again in this hotel is if I can be in the same apartment 102, and this only if the fate angry with me send me back to Shumen.

Great location
This hotel is on the pedestrian-only center of Shumen. The area is full of wonderful cafes with attractive outdoor seating, and just about every shop you might need to find. The hotel itself has character, which I love, but our non-smoking room was filled with smoke because the maid smokes while she cleans! There is no elevator and the first flight of stairs is long because of the high ceilings below, so be sure you can carry your own bags a long way. The breakfast is included and was a typical Bulgarian breakfast of cucumber, white cheese, olives, meat and Turkish coffee. I adore that type of breakfast, however, my husband and daughter claim they NEED cereal! The front-desk staff (I think they are brother and sister) speak English well and were very nice. Our room did not have a separate shower -- typical European-type shower head installed in wall of bathroom sprayed everything in the room when you try to take a shower. However, another guest we became friends with said his room did have a separate shower, so if you book a room, ask for one that has the separate shower!
