Neat and clean , spacious rooms

Very neat and clean rooms. Employees were very well behaved. Food was good and rooms were very spacious with balcony. I was very satisfied. Wifi was not working well.

A Majestic Sanctuary in Bumthang – Views, Warmth, and Exceptional Service

"We spent three incredible days at Hotel Ugyen Ling, and it was easily one of the highlights of our journey through Bhutan. From the moment we arrived, the staff was beyond accommodating—proactive, attentive, and seemingly always one step ahead of our needs.
The room itself was a masterclass in Himalayan comfort. It was incredibly spacious and featured a traditional Bukuri stove, which provided a cozy, authentic warmth that was perfect for the crisp mountain evenings. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and after long days of exploring, the consistent hot water in the shower was a much-appreciated luxury.
One of the most unforgettable features was our private patio; waking up to a direct, stunning view of the Jakur Dzong was a world-class experience. The culinary offerings did not disappoint either—both breakfast and dinner were delicious, fresh, and served with genuine hospitality.
If you are looking for a peaceful, well-appointed sanctuary in Bumthang that perfectly balances traditional charm with modern comfort, Hotel Ugyen Ling is the place to stay. We cannot recommend it highly enough!"

Amazing stay

I was worried about some negative reviews. However my travel agent recommended this despite my hesitation. Luckily things seem to have changed here for better. Rooms are large and spacious with balcony
Rooms had heaters and wood fire place. Heated tiles in bathroom were nice addition
Dental kit was not provided but quality of showergel, shampoo and moisturiser was superb. No bathroom slippers.
Food was sufficient in spread and good in taste
We used laundry service which was affordable and efficient. Staff was polite and prompt
Bathroom gets slightly stinky. Maybe drains need cleaning. Luckily they have provided exhaust fan in bathroom.

Nice stay in a rather remote area of Bhutan

I spent two nights here. The hotel is an outpost in Bhumtang valley. Rooms are spacious but rather outdated, although very clean. When I was here there were hardly other guests and service was very nice and efficient, especially when requested to light up the fire to heat up the room. The restaurant area tends to be cold in the wintertime

Very average and on the downslope. Needs better management and some money being spent on it.

This was probably really nice twenty years ago but is very tired now. The rooms are nicely sized and equipped but little things have been let slip. Hessian curtains don’t fit the windows, marks on the walls, some electrical sockets and lights don’t work for example. The staff were very helpful and friendly but the food is very poor
