Great family place

This place has got a great family vibe. Owners are nice beyond belief and the place itself has an almost tranquil setting with mountains view. Rooms are spacious and confy for a reasonable price. Reccomend

Apartment Style property suitable for families

This was the stopover for the 4th night of our hiking trip.
This property offers apartment style accommodation suitable for families for both winter and summer activities. The beer on tap was based on an honesty Tab which we settled with accommodation cost on departure. A very enjoyable breakfast for the start of the next days hiking.
I would guess families take there own towels as the one towel available was not ideal for a shower but as I had a twin for sole occupancy I had two towels and was able to put heating on in bathroom to dry for the next morning.

Quaint, lovely place to stay in the middle of winter

We stayed here for a week-end get-away in February and we absolutely enjoyed not only the beautiful area but also the Pension. This is a family-run, friendly, clean and just lovely place to stay. We bought breakfast and was served plenty of food every morning.
Oh - and of course there's beer on tap that is managed on an honour system.
We can only recommend staying here and we are already plotting when we might be able to return.

Lovely, friendly pension.

We were originally meant to stay at he Hotel Arnika, luckily we had to change! From our arrival to our departure the owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. We were greeted with a drink, each morning before we left for our early bird watching session(6 am) there was fresh coffee in the dining room! The breakfasts were varied and plentiful with homemade jam. Our room was well appointed with a small kitchenette.

Fantastic setting, wonderful views

We stayed in this wonderfully set pension for two nights. The owner is friendly and speaks some English and also German. The pension is in a small village on the edge of the Boubin virgin forest. There is a trail that leads into the Boubin from Kubova Hut or you can drive a short distance to Indina Pila for a shorter walk. The pension is a wonderful wooden chalet, done very nice inside with lots of chunky wood and nice fittings. Our room was big, with a patio door to the outside, a kitchenette and dining table and a shower room. They give you soap and towels. There is a fridge and a hob with some basic cooking and eating implements. If you want to cook you will need a teatowel and washing up liquid. There was a tv in the room but we didn't turn it on. The view from our window was the boubin forest, dusted in snow - stunning! The owner asked what time we wanted breakfast and whether we wanted tea or coffee. We awoke to find the breakfast ready for us in the dining room - egg, breads, jam, plain yoghurt, meat and cheese. On the second day we also had pancakes with jam. Delicious. There was a flask of hot water and a choice of teabags for us. Eating options in the village in winter seem limited, but we did eat at the restaurant/bar on the main road -two mains and two bottles of water for a total of £4.50!! We also went into Vimperk which was a short drive and had a few more options. It looks like during the summer there will be more choice available. The only downside we had was that the duvets were very thin, but the room was plenty warm enough to compensate (heating on constant) and the pillow was very, very lumpy so not very comfortable. Other than that minor detail, this place was a gem and a good base from which to explore the Sumava National Park. We are looking forward to our return visit!
