Lovely warm hotel with friendly staff
This is a lovely and warm hotel with a great restaurant. Across the road from the bus station and a short walk to the slopes and supermarket
The staff were super friendly and were happy to accommodate our whole group for dinner, there were 24 of us.
Rooms are basic but clean. We were on the first floor at the front which was a little noisy on weekend nights but didn’t bother us. My only complaint was we could hear every step the people in the room Upstairs took including kids jumping on and off beds and it woke me up every morning.
I would stay here again
The staff were super friendly and were happy to accommodate our whole group for dinner, there were 24 of us.

Never again!
It is by far the worst hotel I have ever visited and I already drive many to the Giant Mountains.
Let's start with the parking.
They are available but only until the Czech Republic friends come before owners.
Then his German guests are "asked" to park their car 50 m further down, which is not so good with totally icy sidewalks with 2 toddlers.
Continue to the rooms.
The size was really good and also the bathroom was very appealing from the sight only the bathroom door could only be opened a good 50 cm and then it hung on the floor.
Furthermore, it smelled very unpleasant in the bathroom, which meant that we left the fan on day and night.
Now to the room itself.
When my wife was looking for a power outlet near the bed and therefore has to slip a bed briefly, a sight of disgust presented itself.
Under the beds have not been cleaned for months, the reason we found out ourselves.
We travelled with dogs, which costs 300 crowns per night.
You can expect at least the room to be vacuumed but that doesn't happen for 4 days.
Neither were the trash cans in the room emptied.
I then took the liberty of bringing the garbage to the owner personally. Finally, a word on games rooms.
It's a passage room to the ski room, people tell me to run their dirty/wet boots that way where kids play. Disgusting.
My summary. Completely unsuitable for families with children.
Never again.

The food was not good
We have just made a stop at this hotel to eat in its restaurant. There were only three other guests eating. the waiter wasn't very welcoming and the service was too slow. All our meals seemed reheated only and they forgot to serve us one extra side we had ordered. The young waiter said, that they have had a new chef, and that the chef had forgotten to make it. We can't imagine what will the service look like there in a very busy season.My wife's potatoes were old and reheated, also served in very bad skin with black bits on them, definitely not for human consumption, I am sorry to say. She was too polite and didn't want to complain. She has just left them on the side for the waiter and chef to notice... We do not have any experience with the hotel, however the food is not good.

Review of the restaurant only: Uneven food, rustic decor, good service
We came for lunch in mid-week at the restaurant of this hotel, since most places in this tiny ski resort town were closed in late August. The sign outside said they were looking for a cook, and they apparently really need one: the soup was totally tasteless, and the home-made lemonade was just cold water with no flavor at all. The shopski salad and the huge potato pancake with pork and saurkraut were quite good, though. The service was fast and polite.

Excellent location for skiing
Hotel Hvezda has an excellent location in the centre of the ski resort Pec pod Snezkou, near the local supermarket, next to a small lift which will get you to the main slopes and if there is not enough snow , a ski bus stop is right next to the hotel. It is possible door to door skiing from the ski slopes if snow condition are good.
The hotel itself is basic, wooden czech style cozy style. I would rate it 2 stars. The food in the restaurant is typical heavy czech food with a good beer and wine. Rooms are clean and warm, our room was facing the main road and occasionally we could hear some noise. I would recommend a room facing the other way. You can hear children running around the corridors if you are located on the first floor near the stairs but it depends who is staying in the hotel.
Breakfast didn't start until 8am and the door wouldn't open before so if you are an early riser you have to wait...
If you are not looking for a luxury but a convenient and a good value hotel in the centre I would definitely recommend hotel Hvezda.

Rooms are clean and warm, our room was facing the main road and occasionally we could hear some noise. I would recommend a room facing the other way. You can hear children running around the corridors if you are located on the first floor near the stairs but it depends who is staying in the hotel.
Breakfast didn't start until 8am and the door wouldn't open before so if you are an early riser you have to wait...
