Price performance is good with room for improvement

The hotel is on the outskirts of Prague, but is easily accessible via the city motorway. Public parking is available with luck. Fast and friendly check-in, spacious room and bathroom, very clean, with earplugs you can also open the window while sleeping as the street is surprisingly busy, due to the World Cup and a major concert in Prague the room prices were high but at least you got something, breakfast times are great, breakfast selection is sufficient, egg dishes can be ordered fresh, in the evening you can eat in the adjacent restaurant,

Unfortunately disappointed

After we stayed at Hotel Darwin 8 months ago, we came up with the idea to book again.
Unfortunately, upon arrival, we already argued with a resident across from the hotel about a parking space. Since the hotel does not have its own parking spaces.
The lady at the reception unfortunately could not help us either.
After we were finally able to check in, there was the next disappointment at dinner; I can still remember the food at the end of 2025, it was very delicious and nicely presented, and the service was also friendlier back then.
Instead of checking if the guests still had something to drink, the service staff preferred to go for a smoke, and in such a way that the guests noticed it.
But perhaps that was just because the owners were not on site.
Unfortunately, we will not book this actually beautiful hotel again on our next trip to Prague.

Poor breakfast

We had breakfast as part of our hotel reservation. The selection was very limited, the bread dry and boring. There was no staff so I couldn't make a cup of tea until someone came.
Five minutes after the buffet was closed, an angry lady came and waved with her arms and threw us out so we couldn’t sit and enjoy our coffee we had taken before the buffet closed.
I would strongly recommend NOT to book the hotel breakfast.

Nice stay in the suburbs of prague

Very authentic. Very Nice place. Newly renovated with respekt. Very relaxed athmosphere. Clean rooms. Good breakfast.
We had beef for dinner. The Meat and vegetables were perfect. And nicely situated with parking right outsider.
Nice to be in the suburbs of prague. Life is more relaxed here.

Excellent value and easily accessible

The Hotel Restaurant Darwin pays tribute the English naturalist, geologist and biologist Charles Darwin and its rooms are dedicated to different aspects of his life and research. We liked the location, close to the highway and perfect for a “quick-in, quick-out” overnight stay on your journey. The rooms are fairly sized and appears newly renovated, clean and in good condition with plenty of storage space. The only issue – on a hot summer night – was lacking air-condition in our room. The windows face the main street of the small town and had to be opened to get a minimum of circulation. The traffic flow stops around 10:00PM. But it begins around 05:00AM, from 06:00AM it’s noisy and hard not to be disturbed. We liked the plain, but good quality breakfast which offered a selection of individually prepared egg-dishes and freshly brewed filter coffee. The hotel’s restaurant offers a wide selection of straight forward large sized dishes – and pints of cold Pilsner Urquell. It closes at 10:00PM.
