One of the better options at Easter Island
Easter Island is amazing, the tourist infrastructure unfortunately is not...which is probably why Easter Island is still amazing. The Cabanas Hare Miru were a great place for us to stay. We enjoyed having our own little kitchen and eating in. We also enjoyed being close to the city, but also a little way out.
Overall the cabins were very clean and comfortable especially the bed which was very comfortable. The service was also excellent and the staff were very warm and made sure that we knew what to do and where to go to make the most out of our time.
Our main "issues" with the property have to do with the linens and the bathrooms. Some of the linens, towels etc used in the cabins appeared very old and needed to be replaced. The bathroom was also a little grimy around the edges...nothing so bad that we would never go back...but its probably time to get them redone. We also found a couple of small roaches during our stay...Hare Miru staff apologized profusely and it was obvious they were doing all they could to keep them out...its just hard on an island that has them all around in these cabins.
With that said, we enjoyed our time immensely. Easter Island is amazing and looking at some of the other limited options, I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Cute, clean, spacious and a great view of the ocean from the camp fire
Every morning fresh bread is delivered to the Cabana. Makes for delicious toast.
The fairly equipped kitchenette saved us from having to eat out for every meal.
Not sharing walls was great.
The team was super helpful and friendly. They also had a 4x4 for me to rent.
There were only a couple minor issues which clearly did not impact my enjoyment:
No fan/AC, inconsistent water temp/Wi-Fi, road noise.
The fairly equipped kitchenette saved us from having to eat out for every meal.

Rapa Nui....wow
We stayed here for 5 nights recently, and I can thoroughly recommend this place.
The cabins are roomy and comfortable. We stayed in the larger one, and enjoyed the space. It is good to have a kitchen, because eating out all the time can get rather expensive on this island.
It is about a 15 to 20 min walk into town, which was fine by me. The museum is about 5 mins walk around the corner, and if you keep walking for a few more minutes you arrive at the coastline. The Ahu Tahai are there (Moai statues).
Carolina, the general manager of the cabins, is wonderful. She is a genuinely caring and interested person who will give advice, recommendations and assist with things like car rental etc. She is a real asset to the establishment! She also brought us fresh bread rolls each morning, which was much appreciated.
Overall, a terrific experience in a great location, with a lovely manager.

Perfect solution
We were a short time in Easter Island, only for 2 day. We ordered for 2 person and this is not a hotel, this is a bungalow. The bungalow is very-very big and you get everything what you want. For example: hairdresser, tv, hifi, refrigator, microwave, water heater, hot water and hot water in the bathroom, towels, little towels, etc etc. All you need is take with you is a shower gel and tissue. Only one thing is missing, heating or airconditioning, so if you travel check the weather and bring you warm clothes or short dresses.
Location is perfect but it is not in the downtown, for walk about 10 minutes to reach downtown, with car is better 2-3 minutes. So I think this is the perfect location you are in a slient nature where you can hear the ocean and the wind, not the other tourist to speak and take a party. As said we were only 2 days, so we prefer to sleep good and rest, not take a party and have a long night.
You can rent a car from the owner of the hotel and there is an optional breakfast if you want it. Carolina is a landlady who is do the best, really the best. We got maps, recommendation, checkin for our airplane, so no bad words to say!

Cabana Retreat
We stayed here in December for our entire Easter Island stay.
We were greeted at the airport by a driver holding a sign with our name on it. He placed fresh flower leis around our necks upon meeting us. He drove us a short distance to (about 10mins) from the airport to the Cabanas. This transport was free and arranged by the Cabana.
The property is about 5 minutes from the main strip (walking distance) and there is a trail that leads to the Moai you can view at sunset. We brought a bottle of wine down the trail to this common park area to watch the Moais at sunset.
Upon arrival to the office building of the Cabanas we were greeted by Carolina, who was our correspondent since booking. She kissed us on the cheeks and welcomed us to the island. She is such a kind person. We checked in on Christmas Eve, and she helped settle us. She gave us detailed maps of the island and a suggested itinerary for all of our days. She even drew out routes, and circled things on the map for us.
We rented a car right through Carolina. It was at the Cabana when we arrived, and she took care of all of the paper work. FYI our car was stick shift (5 speed), which was fine for us...but just an FYI. The car was a little Suzuki keep, and was perfect for the island terrain.
The Cabana itself was really clean, and looked brand new. Nice wooden front door, wood floors and a wood ceiling. You literally feel like you're in a hand made cabin. The kitchen had a small fridge, a water boiler (for coffee/boiling drinking water), pots and a pan, silverware and cups, cutting board and knives and a cork screw. There are no cooking supplies (salt/pepper/oil), so be prepared to purchase these if you're wanting to cook.
The bathroom had a well functioning sink/toilet and shower. The hot water worked perfect, and bathroom itself looked fairly new. Toilet paper was included, as well as hand soap and a blow dryer.
The bed and sheets were what you'd expect on an island. Comfortable and warm, not 5 start hotel but definitely acceptable. Very clean linens and towels were provided daily.
There is a sound system for radio, and it does have an Aux port if you have your own device to plug in.
There is no TV as stated on the trip advisor. This was fine as you are busy all day on the island. Shouldn't really be watching TV!
There is a nice outdoor patio with a table and two chairs, and about 20 small windows that open, as well as a third set of patio doors (no porch off those, but great ocean/garden view and fresh air). There are no screens on any windows or doors...which worried us. We did not have any insects/mosquitos or flys enter the Cabana at all; and we had everything open all day and night.
Every morning around 9am Carolina came to our Cabana with fresh bread for free. Very nice.
There are chickens, a cute grey cat and a dog that frequent you if you're welcoming.
The chickens were fun to feed...the rooster will eat right out of your hand from your porch. The rooster does crow in the morning, but this didn't bother us. Bring ear plugs if you feel the crowing rooster will wake you. He only crows a few times at sun rise then stops.
The cat came to us daily at the same door in the morning with a little meow. He just wanted attention , and was so cute.
The one dog we saw was a puppy, and I believe lived on the property. He was also very cute and friendly. No barking.
There are no laundry services on the propertyso don't expect this. (It's an island!).
I would bring a puzzle or games to play at night. Sounds crazy and boring, but we would drink wine at night ....and wanted something to do while on the property. We didn't prepare for that part.
The wifi works if you are in the first Cabana, or near the office. The owners leave the office unlocked for you to sit in and use the wifi 24/7 should you need it. We were in the second Cabana so we had to sit on the porch to get a wifi signal. The WiFI is pretty slow (dial up speeds) , but this is the same everywhere on the island and not a negative reflection for this property.
Upon checkout at 1130 am, Carolina allowed us to store our luggage in the office and continue to use the car until a specific time. They also provided us a ride to the airport. You'll find the flight back to Santiago leaves at 11pm...so the luggage storage and airport ride were really really nice to have.
You pay upon checkout (even if you'v booked online) , and they only accept USD or Peso...no cards currently. Be prepared for this, or use one of the ATMs on the island.
Overall very great stay at these Cabana's! Highly recommend for yourEaster island trip. The price was well worth what you get.
