Excellent location, cleanliness and service

I stayed 3 nights in early March. The location is excellent, very close to the subway Metro Line 1) in a safe and beautiful neighborhood (Providencia). I booked the smallest room knowing I would get a narrow single bed, which was OK for me. The linens were fresh and impeccable, with 2 very comfy pillows. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the shower drain being clogged which I reported to the concierge. They did send someone to look at it, but the problem couldn't be solved during the weekend, so they gave me upgrade to a larger room with a nice double-sized bed. The breakfast buffet was perfect to start off the day . A nice and plentiful selection of fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, cheese/ham, eggs, pastries, and beverages. Everything was spotless clean, and a friendly attendant present at all times, and quick to replenish empty trays. I definitely recommend the hotel for short stays. It has all the basic amenities you would expect and very friendly, professional service. I'd like to give a special thank you to the entire lovely staff: Jenny, Andrea, Bernarda, Sofia, Jhonny, Barbara, Melania. I would recommend the rooms with double-size beds if you're staying longer and need a bit more room.

BAD EXPERIENCE

I thought this hotel would keep the excellent service we had in Puerto Montt, that's why I stayed, but it was a mess, very small rooms and bathroom, bad service and zero empathy with the passengers, I do NOT recommend this Hotel..

Simple hotel with practical location but uncomfortable

Hotel Presidente, in Santiago, has a very convenient location: it is next to the Salvador subway station, in a safe area and close to attractions such as Patio Bellavista and Cerro San Cristóbal, which makes travel a lot easier. The staff is friendly, especially for a young attendant at the reception who communicates well with the guests and is quite concerned.
However, the experience in the room left much to be desired. The model I stayed in was extremely small and, worse, poorly distributed. The movement of two people at the same time was virtually impossible. There was no room to open the bags – the only option was to put them on the bed, which is quite uncomfortable. The closet is tiny, with few shelves and poorly positioned cabins, which makes it difficult to use.
The bathroom is tight and unfunctional. The bathtub, in addition to unnecessary, is narrow and can even be dangerous, requiring doubled care during the bath. The toilet is behind the door, which forces the person to close it to use and makes it difficult to circulate, especially if someone else needs to enter.
The breakfast has a nice space and attentive service, but is quite repetitive. During the nine days I was there, there was no change in the menu. Considering the variety of bread typical of Chile, it was a disappointment to find only bread in common form. In addition, the eggs and lingots were not always hot, which compromises the meal.
Overall, the hotel can accommodate those who are only looking for a good location and basic service, but there are many points to improve in comfort and functionality to make the stay more pleasant.
