Charming, with tiny niggles
A lovely boutique hotel, very charming and Perast is incredibly beautiful.
PRO'S
- cute, charming hotel, the food in the restaurant was lovely, we had lunch there once.
- we got room 44 away from reception, and it was really large and comfortable, id recommend this room (no ses view though)
- Ed, Mia, Balca and Addis made our stay delightful. Ed the front office manager had impeccable customer service, thank you for all your help.
- breakfast was nice, but a bit basic
- lived that perast was closed off to cars on our visit
CON'S
- The hotel has rooms on different parts of perast, some of the rooms like ours were labelled as a different hotel name but 'managed by Hotel Conte' which seemed a bit weird... but our room was nice and its still within walking distance to reception and restaurant
- very inconsistent staff friendliness or helpfulness. The ones we found more difficult at breakfast eg saying toasting our bread will take half an hour, or refusing to give a bit of fresh orange juice to our toddler...
- breakfast was pretty much self serve for everything, which made it sooo hard with a toddler... none of the staff ever offered to help us.
- We encountered an issue with the hot water running out mid shower with our toddler... and the water was ice cold. Ed immediately got us a solution (had to complete her shower in a different, vacant room). We truly appreciated the fast thinking and solution.
- everything in the room was too low-level, including kettles, glasses, cups etc... so it seemed a little dangerous with our toddler at times.... we could have done with higher cabinets to keep things out of reach.
- the pool is up on the hill after quite a few staircases - so just be mindful if you want to access it
- no gym or fitness centre :-(
Overall - highly recommended and we would stay here again for sure.

Beautiful stay in historic quaint town
Had a wonderful time at Hotel Conte in the scenic historical town of Perast at the end of our Croatia and Montenegro trip with family. The hotel is in a car free town, so we were picked up from the lot where taxis can leave you, by the lovely golf cart driver service (note service only runs until midnight so be sure not to return late from dinner or else you have to walk the short walk to the hotel which is fine unless there is a thunderstorm which happens to us - our poor luck). The well appointed rooms are set in four blocks in renovated historical homes that were part of an old palace. You feel like you have your own apartments. Many with quaint private outdoor seating areas where you can enjoy cocktails under olive trees with beautiful views of the Bay of Kotor and the majestic mountains. Would recommend however the upgraded rooms/suites over the double standard for space and comfort. Food is available through the Conte restaurant that serves a daily buffet breakfast with feedback being as a coffee lover they could maybe upgrade their coffee game. In terms of service, the staff are friendly, kind and helpful. Of note, Adis at the front desk was particularly helpful and responsive in helping us with planning our excursions (excellent private boat tour of the bay), resolving any issues, arranging transfers and making our journey overall very peaceful and enjoyable!

AWFUL
I read some negative reviews but disregarded them!
Regarding the bar at the much smaller pool then the pictures show the menu they have they don’t make any of the cocktails etc just basic drinks they don’t even sell Fanta! lol and if you ask for ice they don’t have any? 35 degrees heat and no ice for drinks. The pool area is very cramp sun loungers on top of each other too many ppl not enough chairs. Be warned that where the suites and pool is it it’s a lot of steps so if elderly pregnant or not well mobile don’t book!
We wanted to dine in their restaurant as we was there for my bday we were told they had booked a table in the middle facing the sea (only reason wanted to eat here) when we arrived they couldn’t find my booking put us on the worst table at the side off the sea where everyone entering and leaving the restaurant stood next to you! I went to the reception where “the reception manager” was he couldn’t find the booking either then said after he would talk to the restaurant that his colleague had booked it (lie)and must though was best view rubbish did little help the situation as it was 9pm too late to go anywhere else ruined my bday my bf had called about a cake for my bday but they said a different name further highlighting that it was the wrong table so no sea view table no bday cake the one night that mattered ruined reception staff didn’t care guess we had paid they had our money! After a very mediocre meal other priced cocktails (not worth the price) .
We come back to our room as we had a early flight the next day I woke up covered in big red hives all over my legs and sides (I had read a review about bed bugs in here but though it couldn’t be true) let me assure you it is currently 4am leaving at 7am covering myself in cream and sat on a towel on sofa to hopefully escape whatever it is in the bed. The last time something like this happened to me was when I was a teenager in a hostel not what u expect from a four star hotel terrible
Do not book here The Hermitage is so much better wish would paid the extra better food cocktail staff .

Superb service , wonderful food, fantastic setting.
Beautiful setting, wonderful staff and incredible food! Would thoroughly recommend the restaurant to everyone. Nothing was too much trouble and our brilliant waiter went to great lengths to find gluten free bread for us alongside excellent service!
