Love the Resort/Poor Room Choice
This was my second time staying at The Kontiki. I absolutely love the resort. The proximity to the beach, bars, and restaurants are superb. I was also very pleased with the customer service at the resort.
This time I stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was a nice size and equipped with all the necessities. There were a few things in the apartment that were old/dated and need to be cleaned or removed. For example, the couch in the living room area was extremely dirty to the point that I refused to sit on it. There were also several large marks/holes in the walls throughout the apartment which also could use repair. These things brought down the luxury feel of the space to more of a low budget motel. Other than that, the other furniture and accents in the apartment was very nice including the large wooden dining table, adequate closet space, and walk in shower.
Brunch up at Mood Beach is a must! So much fun every time!
Overall, I love The Kontiki and I will be back however, I will choose a different room type.

In one word great!
What we enjoyed at Kontiki, I can't name one minus. We had room 7102, and our eyes were looking out, how huge. Sea view and pool. Beautiful location on Mambo Beach. Until 11 am they keep the beds at Cabana reserved for guests staying in Kontiki, top arranged. Breakfast at Club Cabana in one word great! Also for the people who need to eat gluten-free, Kontiki thinks along with them. At Mood you can also ask about allergens at dinner. At Mambo boulevard you can also ask at different restaurants if they have gluten-free options. Among others at Pizza Mare, El Grill, Bonita Beachclub, Hemingway.
What I should definitely remember to mention: A big ten for all the staff, all equally friendly, nothing is too much for them. We are already looking forward to next time, and can already say that will be Kontiki again!

The kontiki is the best!
Nice apartment with all amenities and conveniences close by, top staff. You can just speak Dutch or English. Often a clean made bed and towels, nice views and great food. Good relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be back sometime.

Do not stay at Kontiki hotel
Upon arrival I was provided the two bedroom apartment that I paid through a third party. The rooms have air conditioning in the bedrooms but no air conditioning in the living room/kitchen area. It was unbelievably hot and utilizing the stand up fan only circulated warm air. I spoke to a manager and not only did they say there was nothing they can do, they had no rooms available to move me nor were they able to provide me a refund. Horrible customer service. Horrible experience. Horrible hotel that’s unbelievably hot.

Very relaxing stay
Very friendly and helpful staff and a great private beach. We stayed at the beach house which is great for families. Can be a bit pricey especially if don’t have amenities like beach chairs included upfront in a package deal but that might be to be expected.
