Fantastic trip in the Southern Jutland

Really nice week in Sønderborg (from 13/7 - 18/7-26 ). My husband and I had rented us into the Sønderborg Kaserne - nice spacious room with balcony overlooking the harbour - nice size bathroom with shower - large flat-screen TV. Breakfast was perfect, there was nothing missing in the big brunch buffet. Walk distance to the harbour and pedestrian street - really cozy harbour environment, with many lovely restaurants, and not least the Castle is worth a visit. We were lucky to see the King's ship, which had laid the cage in front of the castle. . Also lovely restaurants in the pedestrian street, as well as great shopping option. Short drive Als around, cozy with the small yachts ports / farm shops / Tiny House camping etc.
We give Sønderborg Kaserne 5 ⭐️ for that we think we deserve ( 4 ⭐️ is too little ) But there could well be installed a small fridge + a boiler in the room, as in late evening hours you could well enjoy both cold and hot to drink.
And as I have read in another post, this place could well be renamed to: Pension Sønderborg Kaserne, it better suits the place. Nothing negative
Whatever is, it has been a lovely trip in the southern Jutland. Mojn.

We arrived at the hotel and needed to use the elevator, but it was out of order. We had not been informed about this in advance. Once we got to our room, we discovered that the adjustable beds were also not working. In the shared kitchen, the coffee machine had run out of coffee. Because we arrived late, we were unable to use the entrance from the parking area and had to walk quite a distance to get into the hotel.
We requested a room with a view of the water, but it turned out that our view was mainly of treetops and neighboring buildings.
The breakfast was satisfactory, but it was not exceptional.
Overall, this experience has made us consider looking for a different hotel the next time we visit Sønderborg.

Not a hotel, more of a hostel!

Booked a deluxe room for 4 nights. A pungent smell greeted us from the bathroom. Mold in the bathroom and a totally calcified and filthy shower. Only one bath towel and 1 washcloth per person, no hand towel or bath mat. Living area very spartan and cheap. Breakfast in the dining hall 50 meters away from the hotel. Cafeteria level, the guest even has to clear their own table. The entire hotel complex is very worn out and not clean. We checked out after one night. The pictures on all the travel portal sites have nothing to do with reality! No fair handling of complaints.

Historic surroundings & super central

Centrally located, functional hotel, with a little “campus charme” in the very best way nice spacious rooms & nice views, to the fjord & at the time we visited July 26. 2 well cared rabbits in the “front garden”, who had fun in each other’s company & seemed completely safe♥️

good easy hotel, but no staff, but we like one more towel and just send a email, and next day there was there...
