Perfect place to stay in Aswan

Perfect place to stay in Aswan. Beautiful views across the Nile to Aswan. You can see the chaos but not be part of it. Although it’s a quick & cheap ferry ride (10 Egyt) to get there.
Everything is very clean and tidy. The room was lovely with a beautiful dome ceiling (room 7). Showers were good. They had aircon if needed. WiFi is a bit patchy but works.
Transport from the airport. If you don’t want to have to negotiate for ages and be driven all over, instead of directly to your hotel, better to arrange with the hotel for 400 Egypt Dollars beforehand.
Breakfast is included and very filling. They charge Egt 300 for dinner. It’s a nice meal but prepared in their own time, so you might be pretty hungry by the time it arrives. Hint - ensure what you communicate is understood.
The Tomb of Mekhu and Sabni is just a 7mins walk. They charge tourists Egt 75 students, Egt 150 for Adults. From there you walk up to the Dome of Abu Al-Hawa, which has great views.

Quiet but some grievances

We spent 3 nights at Nubian Holiday House. We chose it following the excellent reviews found here and there. We are ultimately quite mixed in terms of recommendation: The positive points first of all: Quiet (West side of the Nile, therefore opposite Aswan, a very bustling city), very beautiful view of the Nile from the terrace, our large Ground floor room was clean. The interesting or even negative points: fairly cold welcome, impossible to get a 'hello' or 'good morning' in response to our greetings from the breakfast staff, very dark and poorly lit room, only one socket current, an extremely hard bed, ...
In short, we know that this is a low-cost guest house but given the lack of contact with the managers, we remain very doubtful if we had to return to Aswan.

Very nice typical accommodation with beautiful view of the city

Nice, typical accommodation with good service. Clean, spacious rooms with air conditioning. Very nice view of the East Bank and the city. Only accessible by ferry and a 300 m walk from the city. Wonderful view, very quiet except for the muezzin. Alcohol served. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The best

This is the best place ever in Assouan the food is excellent the bed very comfy the view is magnificent there's a little garden where you can see donkey and camel it's near the river you have a river view there is a pool table somewhere to rest I loved

Quiet spot in family run guesthouse by Nile

Mr Habib and his family run a small guesthouse on the quiet West Bank. It’s overlooks small fields which border on the Nile. It’s very convenient as only 5 minutes walk from the public ferry to the East Bank which costs EGP5. The place is spotlessly clean and very good value. Breakfast - served on the roof overlooking the river - especially the shakshuka cooked by his sister was delicious. Mr Habib can arrange trips easily with reliable people - he organised a car to take us to Abu Simbel and a 2 hour felucca trip. Both worked perfectly and we would not hesitate to recommend.
