Located on the riverwalk, Midtown Hostel is in Downtown Cairo neighborhood and is connected to a shopping center. Egyptian Museum and Grand Egyptian Museum are cultural highlights, and travelers looking to shop may want to visit Khan el-Khalili and Citystars Heliopolis. Orman Botanical Gardens and Giza Zoo are also worth visiting. Along with a microwave in a common area, this smoke-free hostel has a refrigerator in a common area and 24-hour room service. Free continental breakfast and free WiFi in public areas are also provided. Other amenities include self parking, concierge services, and dry cleaning. Midtown Hostel offers 12 air-conditioned accommodations with fireplaces and minibars. Accommodations offer separate dining areas. 32-inch LED televisions come with premium satellite channels. Full-sized refrigerators/freezers, microwaves, and coffee/tea makers are provided. Bathrooms include slippers and complimentary toiletries. Guests can surf the web using the complimentary wireless Internet access. Business-friendly amenities include complimentary newspapers and safes, as well as phones; free local calls are provided (restrictions may apply). Housekeeping is offered daily and irons/ironing boards can be requested.

The room itself was clean.
The location of the hotel was also very convenient exploring the city.

Booked the hotel but room wasn’t in a hostel 2 floors down. Building is in terrible shape.
Room was not what we booked. Photos are misleading, they show you’ll get a balcony and a certain layout, you don’t.
Room and hotel smelt like an ashtray. No blankets given. Advised them of all the issues, answers given were ridiculous. When asking for a blanket the response was ‘we don’t have blankets, no one asks for blankets but I’ll do you a favour and bring you a duvet cover to use as one.’
Bathroom was shocking. Disgusting. No way of showering either without flooding the bathroom (and no it wasn’t a wet room).
No breakfast was offered or available.

Plenty of options to eat within walking distance and very quick and easy to get an Uber.
Very friendly staff, room was clean and spacious. All the basics provided and a few little extras too- I especially liked the touch of the swan towels!
The bed was very comfy and both WiFi & aircon worked well.
Hostel is located on the fifth floor but there is a lift available.
Check in/ check out was easy and room was ready exactly when the check in time stated.
Due to the location there is some traffic noise but this did not impact my sleep.
In contrast to the cleanliness & upkeep of the hostel, the building itself does not have the best signage and is not maintained particularly well maintained e.g rubbish/ building materials left on stairways & landings. This is not the fault of the hostel who have made their section of the building very welcoming.
I did not have the breakfast so cannot comment on this.
