If you are looking for a connection with nature, this is clearly the place. Birds, animals, history, and services. My place in Mindo.

BAD EXPERIENCE

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was very disappointing. The service was poor, the facilities neglected and the overall conditions were not up to scratch. I DO NOT RECOMMEND
In addition, customer service was abysmal. There was no willingness to help or attend to the guest. At no time did I feel open to solving problems or providing support.
It is a shame, as they have great potential to offer quality tourism in Mindo. However, they do not know how to take advantage and what you see is a neglected hotel.

Tree house

We had booked 2 nights in the cabin upstairs which looked amazing in the photos.
But we were disappointed with the infrastructure, poorly maintained, not very clean and really not very pretty.
The bathroom is pretty nice. There is indeed hot water, but the jungle style bathtub as advertised and really not great. It is impossible to fill it, because too big, dirty and the paint peels off.
The place is beautiful and there are many birds but frankly there is a lot to do.
A big thank you to Alexis who is very kind and helpful and who knows the birds perfectly.

Nice experience, but with deficiencies

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel. Very nice place! Unfortunately, the service was not so good since the room was never cleaned during our stay, additionally they did not give us a hand towel, the place had many spider webs and the room upstairs had a significant hole in the middle of the room. somewhat dangerous place

Great for birdwatching

Eden Treehouse had a certain charm about it. The treehouse didn't look like the photos of the one we booked so we declined it and the helpful Cindy on reception switched us to a normal ensuite room. The bathroom was a bit rustic but the room was good enough for the three night stay. We additionally had a room upstairs, accessed via a ladder on the verandah, for an expansive view across the valley. It had a seating area and the adjacent trees were great for birdwatching (eg toucans, toucanets, motmots, colourful barbets and tanagers). So after the initial glitch we ended up having an enjoyable stay.
The staff were friendly and special mention must be made of Olga the cook. We arrived midday and she made a delicious meal despite lunches not normally being offered. We had great breakfasts there every day just by the feeders and realised why Mindo is such a draw for birdwatchers. We lingered long over morning coffee watching a variety of birds come and go. Olga freshly prepared the evening dinners as well and the standard was amazing including the vegetarian meals. Her cooking made it a real pleasure eating there.
Eden Treehouse is not far from Mindo centre on the road up to the Tarabita cable car ride. We went for a walk up this road and also down it to Mindo. Again, if you like birdwatching then this place would be for you. The Eden Treehouse grounds had trails too which were just as good.
