Magical experience in the cloud!
This was a magical experience! Everything was top-notch from the food to the staff to the views! Our Nature Guide, Estuardo, was incredibly knowledgeable about the flora and the fauna! Thanks to him, we have memorable pictures that are National Geographic worthy!

Mashpi Lodge, the perfect place to connect with a sustainable purpose.
I had the opportunity to meet the lodge a few weeks ago, on each occasion I am very impressed with the quality with which they are maintained, this because it is a particular experience from the moment of the trip, I consider that there are difficulties to reach, but it is totally worth it, the landscapes, the food, the place and especially the projects they manage makes this experience unforgettable from the beginning. I totally recommend this place especially for the escape of the everyday and the city to know the best secrets of the Andean choco.

Great but could be improved
Overall, we really liked our stay at Mashpi. The place is an adventure in itself and the walks are great. A few points to improve: there is no coffee machine in the rooms, the restaurant is not very good, and the rooms on the lowest level smell quite a bit like humidity.

An Unforgettable Experience in the Cloud Forest
Amazing experience! Our room had fantastic views of the cloud forest, and waking up each morning to the sounds of birds was truly special. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and helped us learn so much about the wildlife and unique ecosystem of the cloud forest. The food was also delicious.
We enjoyed so many activities, including the Sky Bike, Observation Tower, Dragonfly Canopy Gondola, Life Center, the Lab, as well as day hikes and night walks. The night walks were definitely a highlight of our stay. We went three times, and each walk brought new surprises and discoveries!
Mashpi is a beautiful and unforgettable place for anyone who loves nature and wildlife. Highly recommend!

Exceeded expectations
A Magical Eco-Lodge Experience
Our stay at Mashpi Lodge exceeded my expectations in every way. I had never stayed at an eco-lodge before, and after this experience, I can honestly say it’s a must!
The location is simply magical. Tucked into the cloud forest, the scenery is breathtaking, and there are so many activities to choose from that every day brought a new adventure. The staff were wonderful—genuinely warm, caring, and attentive. A special shout-out to Fernando, our guide, who made our excursions even more enjoyable with his knowledge and enthusiasm.
And the food! Everything felt fresh, clean, healthy, and absolutely delicious. It was wonderful to eat so well while enjoying such an incredible setting.
Getting to Mashpi is part of the adventure. The drive was definitely an experience, and I had been warned that the winding roads might be scary and nauseating. It really wasn’t as bad as I expected. I simply focused on the road ahead and the beautiful scenery—and, for probably the first time ever, I didn’t look at my phone once during the drive (to avoid nausea of course)!
One little tip for future guests: bring Dr. Scholl’s-type inserts for the rubber boots provided by the lodge. We did a lot of hiking, and the extra cushioning would have made the boots much more comfortable.
If you’re considering Mashpi, go. The combination of nature, adventure, incredible hospitality, and the feeling of being completely immersed in the cloud forest makes it an unforgettable experience.
