Cozy little resort

I was invited to the resort for a tour. Everything is brand new, clean, and beautifully landscaped. Currently, there are 10 bungalows that are well-equipped. Beautiful sandy beach and snorkeling opportunities; you can easily go diving at the neighboring resort.
The lunch was very good and the management was very attentive.
Thank you for the invitation, we will come back next year.

Poor customer service and bad management - best avoided

Very poor experience with this property and the management there. After accepting and CONFIRMING my reservation, they later advised that the accommodation would be closing for 'scheduled maintenance'. They did advise this at the time that the reservation was made. Compensation was requested for the breach of contract but they refused to pay. Many emails ignored. A terrible way to treat customers and also a breach of contract law. Would definitely NOT recommend this property due to the attitude of the management.

The best staff

My girlfriend and I spent two weeks travelling the Yasawa islands and Mai sunset was our favourite resort to stay at by far. The facilities are fantastic, we stayed in the dorms which only had four beds and a beautiful outdoor shower. The food here is absolutely incredible, with a different menu every day that didn’t stop impressing. We were here for my girlfriends birthday which the staff made so special, setting up a private table on the beach for us to eat, a massive thank you to Ane who was such a friendly and attentive host. The staff at Mai sunset were the best we found anywhere in Fiji and really made our stay. Jay, Monee and Bill were hilarious and our activities wouldn’t have been the same without them. We couldn’t recommend the manta ray snorkelling and sunrise hike enough. The village tour was also so insightful and it was nice to see where most of the staff came from, Jay was kind enough to invite us to his own home and share tea with his family. Overall, Mai sunset is a must do stop on the Yasawa islands if you value beautiful accommodation with the best staff!

Wow, heaven.

We stayed 2 nights at Sunset Mai, the welcome is very warm throughout the stay, Joshaia the waiter at the restaurant terrace served us like kings, we liked meals with varied menus, the team of activities are very kind, we will return soon even if it is far from Canada.

Mai sunset is the perfect resort for people wanting a quiet stay, where you feel like family. The daily snorkelling trips (which are included) are not to be missed! The coral around the island is especially colourful and can see incredible fish at different times. It's definitely the most alive coral reefs we've ever seen in Fiji.
We also went on a manta ray trip, and although we weren't lucky enough to see rays - we had an amazing experience. The ladder on the boat might need to be replaced soon though!
The rooms are a perfect size, the outdoor shower is divine and the rooms have a small fridge too. Every staff member we met made us feel like part of the family and we spent so much time chatting with staff and other guests. We were one of 5 or 7 people on the resort during our stay and it never felt too busy.
We can't wait to return! Thank you Liddi, Paul, Elinoa, Male, Saku, Jay, Ami, Api, Venni, Rusi, John and all the wonderful staff that make Mai sunset the best destination in the Yasawa islands.
