Beautiful seafront views

Very nice place facing the sea. Very friendly and empathetic. Only problem: many stairs to reach the dive center

Fabulous dive club trip.11 of our dive club in Ireland holidayed at magic island. We had a wonderful experience.

We holidayed at magic island for diving. 11 of our club stayed , wonderful local dive guides- who knew exactly where the fish were! . Really helpful boat crew, great resort staff and lovely food . Top class .

Cancelled booking - supports trips to Oslob Whale Sharks

I booked to stay at the Magic Island Dive Resort, Moalboal, Cebu resort 7 - 12 May 2026. There is a sister resort in Bohol.
Before booking I carefully looked at the trips the resort offered on its website to ensure eco-ethical tourism. The website for Magic Resorts Philippines did not include any mention for either its Bohol or Moalboal pages or generally of trips to the Oslob Whale Sharks.
When recently planning out the final logistics of my trip I checked the reviews of the resort for travellers' tips.
A review left recently by Rycher, last month suggested that Magic Resorts Philippines facilitated trips for guests to swim with the Oslob Whale Sharks.
The unnatural feeding and swimming by tourists en masse with the Whale Sharks at Oslob has been considered highly unethical by many marine scientists and animal welfare organizations for many years now. Pursuant to many papers published by credentialed marine biologists, the feeding to keep the Whale Sharks around Oslob for tourism and the tourist dollar interrupts natural and migratory behaviors and impacts on these beautiful creatures health, reproduction and overall survival.
Once I became aware that Magic Island, Moalboal and Magic Ocean Bohol ie both of Magic Resorts Philippines operations supported and facilitated trips to the Oslob Whale Sharks I asked to cancel my booking.
I have uploaded a photo of my email to Cynthia Peters at Magic Resorts Philippines it is fact, and scientific fact sourced and self-explanatory.

First Class Service!

There was nothing that we needed that Magic Island didn't fully deliver or make much easier for us. They coordinated rides to/from Cebu airport and into town while onsite, they made sure that we had plenty to eat and drink during our stay, and they coordinated a trip to Islob for whale shark viewing (and even accommodated with a quick side trip to feed the monkeys).
As for the scuba, not only are the dive sites memorable in their own right, the dive staff handles getting all gear on/off the boat and on/off your body and our dive master, Jason B, pointed out many animals that our untrained eyes would have missed and used my GoPro to get much better videos than what I would have gotten (as well as shots with me and the wife and animals in the backdrop).
Top notch all around! Kudos to the staff!

Would definitely recommend for great diving

Everything was so organized and well done! Such nice people, yummy food, fabulous dive guides, massages, nail services and great dive sites! Thank you for a beautiful stay!!!
