Authentic Philippines at Hotel Lapira

We stayed at this hotel for several nights to see the UNESCO heritage city of Vigan and attend a family celebration in nearby towns. We enjoyed very much the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms. The service is impeccable and be sure to check-out the yummy seafood/Chinese cuisine at their onsite restaurant called Angkong. Prices are reasonable and the location is quite convenient. Rooms are complete with all the conveniences western travelers come to expect.

There's a lot better

The room was very small and constantly smelly. Electrical problems in the bathroom. The view from the window is a wall right in front of the window (at least in my room). Common areas are shabby and with no personality. The air con was one of the noisiest I have ever experienced in my life. The location is inconvenient as it is far from most of the relevant attractions of Vigan. There are really a lot of cheaper and nicer options in the center. I can't understand why is this hotel so expensive compared to others...

Nice hotel

The hotel was nice and the room was neat and presentable when we arrived.
They have their own parking lot which is a big plus for us.
The hotel is located a couple of kilometers away from the heritage site or popular tourist spots in Vigan thus location wise it is superb for us.

Nice hotel

Nice location.Not in the heart of the old town proper but accessible via local public transport. Breakfast was good. Room is clean. Staff are friendly ready to assist. With parking space.Room rate reasonable

To Vigan, and Beyond!

It’s Back-to-School again by June 10, so our family decided to do a last-minute roadtrip to the Hispanic Vigan City, and up to the Sand Dunes of Paoay the next day.
After a grueling 10 hour drive from Alabang to Vigan, we stayed at the Hotel Lapira, located just a few hundred meters away from the hispanic Calle Crisologo. I specifically selected this hotel due primarily to their secure parking area, and then some.
I checked out all the more “nostalgic” hotels near and within the Calle Crisologo, but they don’t provide parking—understandably due to their location. I can’t be away from my SUV overnight, so parking is a big deal for me.
Hotel Lapira is a very nice place to unwind at and stretch after going thru almost 500 kms of unending Manila North Road!
The staff were very pleasant, engaging, and polite—despite the fact that we lost the room key on our last day, LOL.
There’s this Angkong Restaurant at the ground level that serves authentic Ilocano dishes, etc. I loved the Vigan Longaniza served at breakfast, matched with sunny side up egg, fried rice, then finishing off with a cup of hot brewed coffee.
Airconditioning in our rooms (two quad rooms) were okay, hot shower, flat screen tv with a working remote(!), bottled water, the works.
Guess my only hang-up was the quality of the bath soap provided, almost same size as the old 5-peso coin. Good thing I always bring with me my trusty toiletry tub. There’s no bidet, too, good thing the water pressure coming out of the portable shower head was strong enough to do the job, lol!
in a nutshell, will we come back to Hotel Lapira next visit?
