Amazing Front Desk Welcome & Wonderful Quiet Bar right downstairs

We neglected to get parking instructions, so we parked on the street and had to drag our luggage a couple of blocks. Ask for the name of the underground parking almost right at their door. I can't recall the name of the front desk guy, but he was the most delightful Indian young man. He saw us coming across the square, with me pushing a walker, so he ran down the stairs and carried our luggage up the stairs while my husband helped me up. He was the most caring, outgoing front desk person I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He spoke English with his lovely accent, apologizing for how rusty his English was. We were given two complimentary mocktails in the lovely bar they have, and met a bartender as charming at the front desk guy. Again, forgot his name, but he was Argentinian and spoke good English as wel. I loved the dark paint and wallpaper - very calming. In spite of being right in the middle of the action, our room was blessed silent. The tram station is right out front so you can just park your car and forget about it. We ate at the Brasserie du Ralliement occupying a grand old theatre just a few steps down from the hotel.

Very disappointing welcome.

I was very disappointed at the reception; once I settled the room and breakfast, I was informed that there was no wifi in the room and no television.
I find it a bit light not to make any commercial gesture; internet has become essential for traveling.
But the worst was when I went to my room and found a card inviting me to have a welcome drink at the hotel bar. And when I presented myself again at the reception with the card, they told me that it was closed, so there was no point in making that offer.
The room is pleasant with a nice terrace overlooking the Ralliement square.
Decent breakfast.

Arrival at the hotel on a very hot day.
Room facing south with air conditioning and refrigerator not turned on.
Very noisy and bright mobile air conditioner: impossible to sleep

Deceptive and to be avoided

Dirty, does not match the photos, very noisy even with the window closed. Noisy corridor. Average breakfast. One can find much better options that do not misrepresent their actual services.

Central hotel with very friendly staff

The rooms are quite simple, however the bathroom was very modern and obviously only recently renovated. The staff at the reception was extraordinarily friendly. Really everyone we had to deal with was very helpful. Things couldn't be better. The hotel is located in the heart of the city and everything is within easy reach.
