First IBIS experience @ Besançon, Downtown
Hotel well located in the city center.
Close to one of the city's trams.
Clean entrance. Has parking.
Welcome counter at the rendezvous and excellent for me. Nice, polite, efficient.
Classic room quite spacious especially if alone (idem if for 2 people).
Large bathroom with electric towel heater to activate if needed. Shower space can be better insulated on the floor because water trickles down to the sink (can generate slip if not careful)
TV available SAMSUNG + desk to work.
Breakfast included in the reservation.
Complete, varied in terms of drinks as well as breads, cheeses, jams, spreads, eggs, fruits cut for some, etc.
Features a hot drinks machine + juice machine (apple and orange)

A hotel well located in Besançon but staff training to review
The positives: hotel located in the old town and with a paid parking (reasonable rate) however the access is very narrow. Comfortable room but small bathroom. Soundproofing correct. Breakfast allows to eat properly. Cons: lack of training of staff especially when management is away, coffee having the taste of water and despite a report to the staff, impossible to have proper coffee at breakfast. A staff member eventually checked to see if coffee was missing when at first the same person said it was not his responsibility. Apparently, the coffee pods on the bar side are counted so the staff can not take responsibility for offering the customer proper coffee, surprising...
Another reported concern, an untimely turn-on of the television in the room in the middle of the night, the staff found a way to just say "we will report it"...
At the end, a business card from the director was given to us to signal our inconvenience. Not interested and after insisting heavily, a commercial gesture was granted to us....
In short, communication with staff was very complicated and unpleasant.

Nous vous remercions d’avoir pris le temps de partager votre retour à la suite de votre séjour à l’Hôtel Ibis Besancon Centre-ville. Vos remarques positives concernant l’emplacement, le confort de la chambre, l’insonorisation et le petit-déjeuner ont bien été prises en compte.
Concernant le café du petit-déjeuner, nous souhaitons apporter des éléments factuels. En 2025, notre établissement a servi 13 826 petits-déjeuners sans avoir enregistré de réclamation relative à la qualité du café. Celui-ci est préparé à partir d’une machine paramétrée selon les standards de la chaîne, avec le café référencé par celle-ci. Ni le personnel ni la direction n’ont la possibilité d’en modifier les réglages. Par acquis de conscience, notre réceptionniste a vérifié le bac à café au moment de votre signalement, lequel était correctement approvisionné. Nous rappelons également que le café en libre-service est disponible exclusivement pendant les heures du petit-déjeuner ; en dehors de ces horaires, des boissons peuvent être commandées au bar.
S’agissant de la télévision, une vérification a été effectuée et aucun paramétrage ne permet un allumage nocturne sans intervention humaine. Votre remarque a néanmoins été transmise afin de rester vigilants sur ce point.
Enfin, malgré nos explications, et suite à votre insistance, un geste commercial a été consenti avec l’offre du parking, dans un souci d’apaisement et de satisfaction client.
Nous regrettons sincèrement que votre expérience n’ait pas été pleinement à la hauteur de vos attentes, notamment en matière de communication avec notre équipe, et nous vous remercions pour vos observations qui contribuent à notre démarche d’amélioration continue.

Maybe carpeted in the corridors to be renovated on the third floor (stained) as well as the bathrooms a little aging at the level of painting.
