A flawless experience.

I booked at Palais Gallien for a marriage proposal. All the staff were attentive and lovely, the breakfast and the spa were incredible, we will not hesitate to return!!

On the positive side, the boutique vibe is fantastic—it feels exclusive and peaceful, and the location in Bordeaux is spot-on for walking everywhere. The staff were also super sweet and helpful throughout our stay.
However, the room left a bit to be desired. We booked the Tolstoy Suite which has a beautiful terrace overlooking the pool in the courtyard , but it was blocked off and completely unusable, which was a huge letdown. Also, for a 5-star luxury hotel charging top-tier rates, simple amenities like conditioner in the shower were missing.
Great location and lovely team, but a few details fell short for what we paid.

Room wasn't ready at check in, room looked nothing like pics: super low ceiling (that you could touch), mold in bathroom (no fan or window). Couldn't open curtains unless you wanted everyone from pool to see right in. Heard people at pool late into the night and then woken up each night at 6am by the roller bags going by and laundry room next to us. Gym had broken eleptical that if you tried to go on, you'd hit your head on ceiling. Then they closed the gym for a meeting, hotel guests aren't a priority. Tried to change rooms, said I'd be happy to pay for an upgrade. After a couple messages and calls we gave up. Finally talked to a manager who was very nice and said we'd get a night refunded. At checkout they didn't know how to do it, I haven't gotten anything. Stayed in 6 other hotels on this tour trip, all were wonderful. This was so disappointing all around.

Nice boutique hotel

Palais Gallien is a lovely, quiet little hotel right in the heart of Bordeaux. The boutique feel is definitely its biggest asset. it’s intimate, peaceful, and tucked away in a great neighborhood that makes exploring the city on foot super easy.
The staff were wonderful across the boar. They were all really nice, approachable, and eager to help with anything we needed.
Our room experience was a bit mixed, though. We stayed in the Tolstoy Suite, which was decent overall, but we were really disappointed to find the beautiful terrace completely blocked off and inaccessible during our stay.
On top of that, for a 5-star hotel at this price point, we were pretty surprised to find no conditioner in the shower—just a basic detail, but one you expect a luxury property to have covered.
It’s a charm-filled property with great service, but a few small details in the room rate didn't quite live up to the 5-star price tag.

A lovely tranquil place

Loved this hotel! Quiet, clean, beautifully decorated. The pool area was beautifully elegant and relaxing. The staff were so friendly - would stay again in a heartbeat!
