Beautiful experience and beautiful setting
Very good stay at the castle on the week is 17-18 June 2023 , excellent value for money , times are hard for the boxes and yet experience really up to standard.
Thanks to you for the attention to our baby.
A passionate couple who have invested a lot in their beautiful home.
Deserves to be better known.
Beautiful setting, good location between Mont Saint Michel and the landing beaches.

Half fig and half grape.
We spent a weekend with a meal at the castle.
The castle the room and setting are exceptional and we slept very well.
But we were disappointed by the meal and breakfasts.
The Owner of the premises was not very attentive and borderline unpleasant.

We thought we were chatelains!!
A box was offered to us , Between Brest and Rouen , there is Brécey and the Chateau de la Sémondière . We arrived late afternoon , the property owner was busy tending lawns and flowers . Time to get out of the car and admire the castle , it was there for us very warm welcome .The inside of the castle , a real jewel!!! He's the one who did it all over again! The rooms , the furniture , the stairs , all period . When we arrive in the room (very clean) , a real love nest , a job ends , perfection!! A little detail that matters a lot: Bedding in GOLD , very comfortable.
The evening meal and breakfast takes place in a large room under ground floor , large column room! Beautiful.
In the evening , a simple meal , but very well cooked and delicious and a very varied breakfast .
An evening and a very quiet night to rest well and be in shape to resume the road tomorrow morning.

Two black marks against my name on our arrival as we
arrived a whole 5 mins before time - and I perched on a stool in the hallway to say hello to the dog to be told I mustn’t sit on the stool as it’s an antique!! Welcome !! The breakfast was pretty basic - and we had to pre-order the one pastry that we were entitled to - it was placed in a dish on the buffet table, but we weren’t supposed to touch it until it was served to us ... I won’t elaborate on the instructions for transferring the (rather nice) jams to your plate to eat with the croissant. The room was small, but was clean and comfortable with very low beams. We were given only one small bottle of drinking water for our 3 night stay - the room wasn’t made up or bins emptied/refreshed during our stay. Having run a B&B in France ourselves for 9 years we found the hospitality and ambiance rather lacking !

Philippe and Frederiq were extremely attentive hosts and very welcoming. They bent over backwards to accommodate us. The continental breakfast was plentiful and varied with cheese, breads, croissants, yoghurts and a selection of jams and honey. The optional dinner was lovely. They were very mindful of our poor French and made every effort to make sure we were included in dinner conversation with other French guests. The main drawback for us was the three flights of stairs to our room. Philippe was very insistent on helping us with our cases. The shower over the bath can be slippery and there is no grip rail to prevent falls. We found the Chateau a little hard to find, but got there with local help. The Chateau is set in an idyllic rural setting and is extremely quiet. It is quite a drive to find any facilities but within a 30 minute drive of Avranches, which was a very picturesque spot. Old places can be hard to provide all the modern comforts but they have done a very good job in providing most of them. WiFi kept dropping out and having to reconnect, possibly due to rural setting.
