Great stopover on the way to the South of France

Lovely quiet spot on the Burgundy canal. We had an excellent dinner under the chestnut trees followed by a comfortable night in a simple but adequate room. Probably adds an hour to the journey but we were pleased to get off the autoroute for a bit.
We arrived at about 4pm but no one appeared until well after 5pm to let us in. Not a problem as we enjoyed the canal side walk.

To flee

What can I say about this hotel. The bedding is broken. Cold water is not ideal for showering. Hygiene is more than questionable. The room and the toilets are dilapidated. The rooms are noisy, you can hear everything from people coming in and when they flush the toilet. In short, avoid.

Ideal spot for cyclists to stop along the canal

Ideally situated along te Burgundy canal at écluse 79, this logis hôtel restaurant was delightful. The room was perfect for our family of 4 with a fan in place to deal with the heat. The restaurant is beside the canal and perfectly shaded from the heat of the afternoon sun. Delicious home made food.

Cycling on Canal

Location suited us very well. Perfectly located on the canal. Outside dining, weather permitting, in shade of horse-chestnut trees alongside canal. Room fine. Very good value for money
· Organisation/management seemed somewhat haphazard. Never quite sure when staff were about,, nor when bar was open. Restaurant food unexceptional, but not expensive, so acceptable. The limited menu hardly changes from day to day so becomes monotonous after a day or two.. However this is understandable - most guests are in transit along the canal and stay for just one night - so for the majority of guests it doesn't represent a problem. But we stayed for 6 nights

restaurant outstanding

We were on a canal boat and stopped in at this quaint restaurant for lunch. We liked it so well we went back for dinner. Loved chef Iaman and his wife and his food was outstanding. Would come back in a heartbeat!
