Romantic French Mansion House Dream!
Drive through the gates and enter a magical escape that feels like your own private “Bridgerton”. We stayed in the expansive Main Suite and were blown away by the soaring ceilings, massive windows, and romantic 4-poster bed. Walking into the House of Mailly is like entering a refined, historic, and incredibly cozy world that you just never want to leave.
What we loved:
Stunning Architecture & Garden: Incredibly detailed revival of this house reveals eye candy everywhere, inside and out.
The Food: Come for the house, stay for the breakfast! Laid on a crisp white tablecloth the delicious goodies look like a magazine photo.
The Vibe: Exceptionally romantic with the perfect balance of luxury and comfort.
The owners are fantastic, kind, and make you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive. Perfect location, in the city but away from the hustle and bustle, impeccable cleanliness, and truly unforgettable ambiance. The House of Mailly is a reason to visit Châtellerault and we’ll definitely return!

We originally found House of Mailly through Booking.com, and we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Vicky & Jean-Luc greeted us warmly in person, and showed us where to park. Our room was stunning. The effort made to ensure the decor matched this beautiful period property, was simply amazing. The bed was really comfortable and we both slept very well after a long drive from Calais. At breakfast, Vicky offered us a feast of homemade delicacies and nothing was too much trouble. We eventually went on our way, only for Vicky to call us to remind us we had left a pair of flip flops behind. Vicky even brought them to us as the gates to the property. First class service from a first class couple! Good luck with future bookings! David.& Sarah
