Beautiful hotel but very simple room. Superb staff!
As with previous reviews, we were a bit disappointed by the room (basic comfort and not very cozy layout, while the price is high, we expected better), but otherwise, the hotel is very good, the restaurant is excellent, the breakfast is complete and pleasant, it is perfect for one night.
Note: a dog-friendly place (dogs allowed at breakfast!) and adorable staff, thank you!
The pros:
- located in the countryside, far from roads or tourism, great for sleeping peacefully, and just a few steps from the Château de Chaumont-Sur-Loire and its international plant festival (dogs allowed)
- the hotel offers a weekend package (a very nice gift to give): night + semi-gastronomic dinner with 3 courses + well-stocked breakfast + entrance to the castle
- the setting is superb, it is well-kept, green, refined, and beautiful
- the staff is discreet but present, available, and very friendly, thank you to the teams!
The cons:
- room a bit dark and not very pleasant: it's fine for sleeping, but you don't want to stay there
- there is no bathroom in the room. Surely designed by an architect who did not think that a bit of privacy was useful: the sink is in the middle of the room and the shower opens directly into the room (but thankfully it is closed)
- no TV either, but that is less bothersome.
- no shutters. And the curtains are not sufficiently blackout, so please plan to bring a sleep mask for sleeping in the morning.
- very good restaurant (and superb terrace) but the tasting portions are a bit small; we found it to be light.
Areas for improvement for the hotel:
- replace the iron chairs on the terrace because the backrest is very, very (very!) uncomfortable.
- please provide hooks in the room that allow for drying towels, not just hanging them but also drying them.
- avoid hygiene product samples, as it is not very eco-friendly; there are other options (e.g., a container with cotton balls and swabs as they are).
- same for breakfast: the jam is served as is, do the same for the butter; no need for packaging, but slices of butter are just fine.

The hotel was clean, reasonably priced, and a quick walk to the Chamount Sur Loire Chateau (which was amazing!) The modern style/design of the hotel was really fun, comfortable and well-appointed. The staff was mostly friendly , especially Olivia and Julia in reception. The onsite restaurant was very good, and quite reasonable considering how fancy the food was. Chef Victor offered us a quick tour of the kitchen and was quite charming and friendly. The downsides are: some of the second floor rooms have very steep, narrow stairs that would be a challenge with luggage. There are also no amenities. No air conditioning, no fridge in the room, no room service and thus no milk w coffee. It’s a good stop for those passing through as there is no real town nearby and little to do at the hotel but sleep and eat.

Black is black! as Johnny sang!
Disabled husband in a wheelchair. The accessible room was completely black from floor to ceiling; even with the lights on, it was hard to see. The shower space was not wide enough, causing flooding in the bathroom during washing, and it was impossible to separate the handheld shower from the large overhead showerhead despite the adjustment. The sink was also completely black, next to the entrance door, and critically, the two electrical outlets were very close to the faucet, which sprayed water on both sides during use. The hooks were too high for a person in a wheelchair, as was the magnifying mirror, which was unreachable. Finally, the heavy entrance door to the room was unsuitable. The bathroom door did not stay open, making it difficult to push the wheelchair while holding it. 250 euros for the room, nonetheless!
And to top it off, breakfast at 25 euros per person, which was nothing more original and even had fewer choices than in any decent hotel. Not a single pastry, just a brioche instead. No yogurts...
I almost forgot, no air conditioning during the heatwave that hit last week, and these black walls and floors... It was oppressive. And finally, no TV. It is not essential, but quite useful in the morning when we are two waiting for the other to shower and get ready.

Excellent restaurant, mediocre hotel
Excellent welcome, spacious room, beautiful high ceilings, minimalist decoration but not lacking in charm.
Please note that there is no air conditioning, so it can be uncomfortable during hot weather.
Furthermore, we slept very poorly because we had to keep the windows open without air conditioning, and there was noise caused by agricultural machines in the fields around us (until 1 AM, starting again at 8 AM). The hotel is not to blame, and this is probably rare and seasonal, but since we were looking for peace and quiet, it bothered us a lot. Is it legal for a farmer to work noisily at night? The minimum would be to inform the hotel, which is right in the middle of the affected agricultural fields.
The restaurant is truly excellent and probably deserves a star. The chef is very friendly, and some of the waitresses are inexperienced (no knowledge of wines), but they are efficient and kind.

EXCESSIVE
Well-located hotel for visiting the garden festival; however, the room does not match the price, but it is very clean and has good bedding. No air conditioning, no mini fridge!
