Beautiful place
Beautiful place. Very well located.
Nice room for breakfast.
Very pleasant staff (from the phone reception to the front desk).
The establishment being fully booked on our dates, we were called back to propose studio accommodation in the annex.
We appreciated this approach and accepted it. The apartment was spotless and beautifully decorated.
We just hope for the next step within the "walls."

Excellent
Nice surprise for this hotel whose rooms are very comfortable. The setting is superb, very quiet. The staff is friendly and very welcoming. Excellent breakfast. Private parking is secured with a gate closing at night. Great location close to the city center of Cognac.

Very cocooning
Nice discovery. Ideal location in "almost" downtown and edge of Charente.
The site is nice. The staff is amazingly friendly and kind. Both at the reservation and on site. The hotel was full, we were offered a "troubleshooting" studio (which actually helped us well!).
The rates charged are extremely correct given the quality of the accommodation.
Breakfasts are also very good value for money.
We will come back soon to test this time the "real" part hotel.

A Perfect Stopover in Cognac
A Perfect Stopover in Cognac – Far Exceeded Our Expectations
After a 6-hour drive from Roscoff, we arrived in Cognac with no real expectations for our overnight stay. We had booked Hôtel Quai des Pontis via Booking.com simply as a convenient stopover – it’s a 3-star hotel, so we thought, “It will probably be fine.”
But we were very pleasantly surprised!
From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful, professional, and welcoming. The hotel is set in a beautiful location, right on the banks of the Charente. The rooms (called “cabins”) were clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. The bed was extremely comfortable, and there were nice little touches – excellent Wi-Fi with phone charging capability, a spotless and functional bathroom, and plenty of space.
Although our room didn’t face the river (it faced a huge period brickwork chimney in the complex!), it caught the evening sun, which was lovely. The bar area was modern and functional, and the hotel kindly booked us a fantastic restaurant just a few steps away (about 50 yards).
The grounds were beautiful and very peaceful. The pool is small but perfect for a quick dip – we were the only ones there in the early evening, which made it feel very private and relaxing.
What really stood out was the staff. Nothing was too much trouble, and their friendliness made the whole experience even better. The hotel is a wonderful mix of old and new – modern facilities sensitively incorporated into historic buildings – and it works perfectly.
For a 3-star hotel, this is outstanding. Our stay was 100% brilliant, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on our way south. Highly recommended!
