EXTRAORDINARY AND UNFORGETTABLE STAY THANKS TO AUDREY!
EXTRAORDINARY AND UNFORGETTABLE STAY THANKS TO AUDREY! (receptionist at Château de Creissels).
We have 60 years of tourism experience worldwide. The Gorges du Tarn, AUDREY'S WAY, are our second favorite after the "Grand Canyon" in the USA...
Audrey introduced us to a FANTASTIC route, completely different from what I had initially planned: a simple round trip from Millau to Ste Énimie...
Here is a summary of our absolutely AMAZING journey that we recommend along with a few tips.
Departure at 8 AM and return to the castle at 8 PM, totaling 12 hours of driving. Exhausting? Well, no! 30 to 40 km/h maximum with hundreds of photo and video stops because the scenery is MAGNIFICENT: a bit of the Grand Canyon and the Great Plains in the middle of nowhere... BREATHTAKING!
One piece of advice: always let motorcycles, other cars, and trucks pass with caution.
They all thanked us with big, friendly gestures...
Here is AUDREY'S route starting from Château de Creissels:
1) The Causse Noir along the Gorges de la Jonte: Le Rozier in Meyrueis.
2) The Méjean Plateau: Meyrueis to Ste Énimie.
3) The Méjean Plateau along the Tarn Gorges: Ste Énimie to Le Rozier.
If you add to this WONDERFUL trip a perfect welcome from the Château de Creissels, you will be completely FULFILLED.
Being disabled, Audrey kindly carried all our luggage as well as our box of regional products purchased in Rivière sur Tarn to the room. She helped us settle in. Thank you SUPER AUDREY , you made our stay UNIQUE...
Pool with a unique view of the Millau Viaduct, restaurant in a vaulted room of the castle, DIVINE meal (kudos to the team) with special attention from our very kind and efficient young waitress LOU . Kudos to her and best wishes for the future...
We are returning to the Château in 3 weeks to continue our visits in this MAGICAL region: Causse du Larzac, medieval villages Peyre, La Couvertoirade, etc.
We recommend the Château de Creissels with our eyes closed.

Short but perfect stay!
My stay was very pleasant from start to finish.
I had chosen the Château de Creissels to make a stop on a trip Spain-France, and I am delighted with my choice. The hotel is very well located, with stunning views of the Millau Viaduct — and close enough to see it up close, which I did!
The hotel is located in a beautiful historic property, quiet and sunny, perfectly maintained. My room was large, bright and comfortable, and I slept there like a baby after a very nice dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Overall, I spent a short stay — just one night — but very pleasant, with a warm welcome and high-end services.
Last important point for those travelling with a large vehicle: parking (outdoor but secure) was no problem, even with a large car.

A quiet hotel with parking for easy parking, a pleasant garden allowing access to the waterfall trail, a swimming pool (not used) and a gym.
The staff is very nice and caring.
Old building transformed into a hotel, we did not like the room because of the very noisy parquet flooring as soon as you set foot on it or the sofa convertible into bed that creaks as soon as you move and because of the narrowness of the bathroom and toilet. Breakfast is full.
