Lovely

Good hosts who really looked after us. Good food. Very relaxing. A perfect stay of two nights in a quiet village. The butterfly garden was gorgeous. Don't hesitate. Beautiful countryside,walks. Very Sawdays.

We can’t stay away!

We first stayed with Catherine in 2015. We had such a wonderful time, that we returned in 2016 and again in 2017! From America! Each time we have visited has been better than the last, I would rate La Grange de la Guesle 7 stars if I could! Cathy and husband Michele continue to tweak the rooms and amenities so that each visit there is something new to enjoy. A sauna, upgraded furnishings and the best of all on our Sept 2017 visit, a gourmet dinner prepared by Michele! We have travelled all over France, and our dinner here was one of the best we’ve had anywhere. What a fine addition to already superior hospitality!
Cathy is always available for restaurant and sightseeing recommendations in which we have never been disappointed. A fluent English-speaker who is patient with our oh, so sad, French attempts, she always has something new planned. We have enjoyed local golf at a nearby chateau, lunch at a gourmet restaurant situated within a ruined abbey, the light festival at Chartres and dinner a a local riding club! All top-notch and not to be found in most guidebooks, which is just what we’re looking for.
Our family group ranges in age from 12 to 77, and all have a great time here, whether is is exploring the garden with the gentle river at the bottom, the nearby Forest of Rambouillet, or just relaxing in the beautiful garden, Cathy and Michele have created a little slice of paradise little more than an hour from Paris and 2 hours from the Loire valley. We can’t wait for our next visit.

Lovely Hosts and lovely Accommodation

Catherine has a smile to frighten bad weather away. Her tasty breakfasts make a great start to every day. Anyone scared of heights should sleep downstairs as the narrow spiral can intimidate. All the rooms are Parisian in style and the beds and bathroom facilities are excellent. Some tea-making facilities in the rooms would be lovely.

Inviting in every way

Wanting a stop off on the way down South we booked into La Grange de la Guesle because we wanted somewhere quiet for the night. Catherine's welcome was wonderfully warm and the guest accommodation she has crafted is bursting with charm and comfort even for chillier weather. A sunny terrace, super sleek shower room, comfortable mattress and indulgent bedding, together with home made breads and yoghurt for breakfast made our short stay a real pleasure.
We loved it so much we stayed for two nights on the return trip to the ferry. Catherine, helpful as ever, advised and helped us to make arrangements for our day's sightseeing in Paris, easily accessible via the train station in Rambouillet.
The area is much more interesting than you might think at first glance and we plan to return to explore further sometime soon - hopefully to experience the cheerful glow of the woodburner in the breakfast room!

An Excellent Stay!

This is a most charming Bed and Breakfast! Catherine takes great care in providing comfortable, high-quality amenities in each of the rooms. She served home-made bread and yogurt for breakfast, and tea service in my room. I had a downstairs room that opened onto the beautiful garden. I felt so welcomed at La Grange, and would not hesitate to give it my highest recommendation!
