Excellent in every way
My daughter and I arrived earlier than anticipated, the owner (I assume) was a lovely older lady who welcomed us, albeit via translator software on her phone.
She showed us to our rooms which were large, well equipped and comfortable. The only thing I would say was the tv remote was an aftermarket one and the tv a smart tv so we could t connect the tablet to watch films, but no problem we got by.
The kitchenette had a job, oven and fridge and kettle so everything we needed. Shower was good height we are both over 6' so glad it was high enough, plenty of heating in the property. The twin bedroom was comfortable.
Breakfast continental type, was laid out in the dining room in main house and looked out onto a beautiful garden.
All in all I would definitely stay here again when I'm the area .

Very very bof bof!!
For 4 people, we were in a single room with a double bed upstairs without window or velux... and a sofa bed on the ground floor very creaky!!
Only 3 chairs, sheets and crockery, cups all dirty! Television down without any compensation being offered... at the time of the Olympics!! Only the breakfast was correct. We do not recommend.

short break visiting Flanders
lovely property in small residential area in lovely gardens.
the property was well equipped and clean and the elderly couple were very welcoming and charming.
Good breakfast included
In a good area for visiting the world war 1 cemeteries Ypres /lille and Bruges.

Quiet, calm stay
Brilliant breakfast, well appointed room and the kitchenette was a real bonus. Madame's beer pancakes were a breakfast highlight!
Good location with easy access to ww1 sites. Lille easily accessible by train from Armentieres.

A really lovely, peaceful, B&B in beautiful gardens
We made La Cense our base for touring the Ypres and Somme battlefied sites and memorials. The proprietor and her staff made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble at breakfast time. Generous serving of traditional French "petit dejeuner", bread rolls, butter jams, honey, eggs, crepes, and pastries your name it. Teas and coffee served in good old english Eternal Bow china for those who remember it from the 70's. We had room 1 which classified as a suite and just perfect. Super king comfortable bed, small kitchenette having hob, oven, refrigerator and sink. Slightly small bathroom but adequate. Plenty of parking space and will sited being only 75mins from the channel tunnel at Coquelle, 20 mins from Ypres centre, 30 mins from Lille and about 50 mins to Arras (in morning traffic) As other have commented a little French language wil help with communication.
