We loved our stay in La Rochelle.
The staff were super friendly, really helpful with recommendations and we felt really well looked after.
We were also offered a welcome drink which was a wonderful start to our stay.
Great location for exploring La Rochelle allowing you to walk everywhere.
We were a family of 5 staying at the hotel and we had plenty of space - two rooms with an interlocking door, one being a suite so we didn't feel cramped at all.
We didn't want to leave!
The staff were super friendly, really helpful with recommendations and we felt really well looked after.
We were also offered a welcome drink which was a wonderful start to our stay.

If you like no aircon and 28 degrees in the room!
So great location, great staff, concierge very helpful.
Bikes excellent

Pool is nowhere near as big as photos.
Breakfast expensive.

Lovely hotel. Great location. Just on the outskirts of the main town (a 1/2 min walk until the main town / market area)

Not a 5 star avoid
Avoid at all costs . We stayed less than 2 hours
This is NOT a five star hotel . The pool is the size of a plunge pool there is about 6 sunbeds around it and people waiting desperately to grab one . When we arrived we were horrified there was a large group of people standing drinking beer from glasses in the pool and shouting and swearing people carrying bags of food from a sandwich shop to eat around the pool. The rooms are dull dark and very corporate - not in a good way
We left after two hours it was an awful experience . Thankfully the young manager was helpful in accommodating our request to leave and we were only booked for one night . I felt very sorry for some of the poor guests that had several days of the horror .to endure

Having said that, we would like to provide some clarification. The behavior of other customers is unfortunately not under our control, as long as they comply with the establishment’s rules. Every customer is free to enjoy the common areas, and it is not up to us to judge their consumption habits.
Furthermore, your rating does not seem to us to objectively reflect the quality of all the services offered by our establishment. Most of your dissatisfaction concerns the perceived atmosphere around the pool, an outdoor space whose experience largely depends on the current attendance, and not on the quality of our services, our reception or our facilities as a whole.
Regarding the size of the pool, it is consistent with the photos and description presented before any booking. As for our rooms, their contemporary decoration is a choice assumed which can naturally not correspond to the tastes of each one.
Finally, we are pleased to read that our Accommodation Manager was able to support you with professionalism and find a solution to your request for early departure. We will pass on your thanks to him.

Top notch hotel
This is a top notch hotel in every way.
We ended up having to stay in La Rochelle at the last minute because of wild fires in the Landes, where we were due to meet family.
It was easy to book a room online. A member of staff called us within an hour of the online booking to let us know that the hotel car park was full and advised us where to park (Place Verdun, a short walk away).
Upon arrival, the reception staff were exceptionally helpful and it turned out that we had been upgraded to a suite (at the price of a standard room).
The suite was beautiful and v quiet (6th floor, facing into the courtyard).
The building itself is a 20thC one nestled within the framework of a much older one.
It is in the centre of La Rochelle, so v easy access to everything this gorgeous town has to offer.
The breakfast was excellent and all delivered with a smile.
One of the receptionists we dealt with was able to recommend restaurants for dinner which did not disappoint.
All in all, a brilliant experience.
