Perfection does not exist, but we are not far from it.
It has been a century since I wrote a review. Thanks to COVID. But here I felt I had to do it.
After a rental mishap, we found ourselves looking for last-minute accommodation. And how lucky we were to come across the Domaine de la Gaucherie. We booked a bit at random, but we ended up in an exceptional place. Welcomed at almost 9:00 PM by a very smiling and friendly person and by all the farm animals: chickens, parrots, pigeons, rooster, horses, sheep. We were housed at the back of the garden in a small wooden chalet by a pond. 1 double bed, 2 single beds in a small space, a kitchenette and a kitchen, and composting toilets (I will not hide from you that at first the idea of composting toilets did not thrill me, but honestly, no discomfort in using them). The cabin is small, yes, but it has all the necessary comforts, and the terrace over the pond is extraordinary; we spent our evenings watching the pond and the animals that come to drink there. The first evening, we had a visit from a deer that hesitated for a long time before drinking, which allowed us to observe it well. The following evening, it was Master Fox who came, and he then returned every evening. We also had the pleasure of observing Mr. Nutria going back and forth on the pond throughout the stay, as well as wood pigeons and a magnificent heron. The second-to-last evening, we heard a rather special bird call, and my daughter, looking up, noticed that it was a macaw parrot making that sound; it even seemed to us that on several occasions this magnificent bird was saying "ça va." I can only advise you to bring a flashlight and a pair of binoculars with you if you take the plunge to rent this magnificent little cabin. As for insects, we were also quite surprised by the total absence of mosquitoes; there are, of course, insects, but we are in the middle of nature, nothing very exceptional.
Then you will find, not far from this cabin, a large pool accessible 24/7, a big plus that is quite rare in vacation rentals.
All around the cabin, you are surrounded by animals: cat, birds, horses, pig (huge, by the way, lol), hens and their chicks, rooster, sheep that loves to strike up a conversation when you walk by; these are, by the way, the only noises you will hear during your stay: the singing and calls of the animals.
In the morning, you will therefore be awakened by the crowing of the rooster, and you will be able to go have your breakfast in a superb room, and what a breakfast for three people: we had 1 baguette, 3 croissants, 3 chocolate croissants, cold cuts, cheese, butter, cereal, Nutella, honey, milk, coffee, tea; we were even offered hard-boiled eggs or an omelet; suffice it to say that for the price, it is worth it.
There are other accommodations on this property: more classic rooms and tipis. It is up to you, but the best view is from the cabin.
The host is extremely friendly and available.
In summary, it is a 10/10, 20/20. So, if you are passing through the region, do not hesitate for your accommodation; we paid a little over 1000 euros for the week, but it is well worth it.

En revanche, nous ne pouvons pas laisser sans réponse plusieurs affirmations inexactes figurant dans votre avis. Le nombre de personnes prétendument mordues ne correspond pas à la réalité des faits. De même, l'affirmation selon laquelle 800 € auraient été facturés pour le ménage et le linge de lit est erronée et ne reflète pas les montants réellement facturés.

Magic!
Very nice find that this guest house, magical, among animals goats, hens, roosters, dogs, pigs, horses and even a macaw! Comfortable room, terraced dinner as "family" with other guests and delicious breakfast. A great plus that pleased children a lot, a large swimming pool and a large park. The hostess is very friendly and welcoming. In short, I recommend!

Well equipped cottage, with an idyllic setting to celebrate my passage in my 30s!
Surrounded by beautiful nature, with lots of animals, we are sure to have a good time!

Really lovely rural setting, animals wandering the area and a lovely laid back feel. Pool was good and accommodation nicely furnished and decorated. Host was really welcoming and generally was a great place to relax.
