Very beautiful castle - Breathtaking view
Very beautiful castle with a breathtaking view of the Seine and the lake of Jumièges!
Nice room, large, very clean with a functional bathroom.
If the weather permits, ask to have breakfast on the terrace; with this view, it is truly unforgettable.
And absolutely quiet, barely disturbed by the siren of a boat slowly going up the Seine.
Walk around the park, there are very beautiful trees, with two very large Araucarias.
And please, people who leave very negative reviews because the paint on the bottom of a door is a little chipped or the silicone seal is not immaculately white, do not go to castles because you have not understood everything...
Prefer Mercure, Best Westerns or others, you will be much happier there...

False Advertising and Very Disappointing Experience
Very disappointing experience. The apartment does not match the description. It is advertised as a two-bedroom apartment, but the second "bedroom" is actually a corridor with a door that doesn't close, offering no privacy at all.
The apartment is in poor condition: mold on the walls, damaged flooring, broken doors, unpleasant smell, and overall in need of serious renovation. It was not suitable for our family, especially as we were travelling with a disabled person.
The owner was not understanding or helpful in resolving the situation, and the alternative accommodation offered was also unsuitable because it had several stairs, despite our accessibility requirements.
We left after one night because the property was not as advertised. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend this accommodation. The owner didn't refund us for the nights we didn't spend there...

GRAND CHATEAU CLOSE TO ROUEN!
The Chambres D'hotes Chateau Du Landin is one of the most unique experiences we have ever had in the any of chateaus we have stayed in over two specific chateau trips to France, and six trips in all.
There are some really bad reviews here and some excellent ones that sing the chateaus praises. They cannot both be correct! The truth, as always is, lays somewhere in between. We will explain the good and not so good as unbiasedly as we can.
You arrive at the chateau, and there is no one to greet you, You are seemingly on your own wondering what the hell is going on? There is no reception desk...just an elderly lady who will eventually realise you are there. She is doing the best she can with limited English. No problem, I speak barely remembered pidgin French, so everything will be ok.
We got our room key....walked up a number of flights of spectacular stairs, that seem less exciting with each step we had to lug the luggage up. We eventually arrive to where our room is...and some renovation is happening outside it with bits of plaster and wood stacked up in the hallway outside the room. Okaay...the glossy photos on the online advertisements did not show any of this, nor was any mention made of it, We move along...
We enter the room, and it is nice to very nice with a view over the valley. The bathroom was good, not great, but certainly not bad at all. The location was fantastic, being very close to the beautiful Normandy city of Rouen. A major selling point, as Rouen is fantastic.
Back to the chateau...sleep was peaceful with no complaints there. We headed down for breakfast the next day...and there was no indication that breakfast was happening, where it was happening, and if had already happened without us! Finally, we bumped into an old lady (the only person who seemed to work there), and she sensed we were looking for breakfast and led us to a room with a nice table by the window. She really was a lovely old lady who made wonderful coffees (cappuccino and latte macchiato). She seemed overworked, and expected to deal with everything that came her way. A lovely old soul who did her best in what must be trying circumstances.
The highlight of our stay was the horses in the grounds which was uplifting.
Value for money? Absolutely not. The chateau charges 5 star Chateau Hotel rates, yet delivers a barely passable bed and breakfast that other chatelaines do so much better with personal Gallic charm. We were glad we stayed here, as the chateau has a lot going for it it (urgent renovation required notwithstanding) but there is nothing that would compel us to stay again. You should stay here at least once in your life, because the chateau does have some wonderful qualities (that valley view is to die for), just temper your expectations.

The views and grounds were stunning, especially the morning mist over the river. However, the public areas looked run-down and needed cleaning, and the freezers inexplicably placed near one of the reception rooms were odd. Our room was clean, but breakfast was mediocre with off-tasting coffee and inedible pineapple. Worth visiting for the views, but expect some cleanliness issues.

Faded grandeur with unrepeatable views of the sky over the Seine
It was the perfect spot for romance but my husband was hanging out of the window every hour from dusk till dawn taking photos of the sky over this bend in the Seine as the sun went down, moon rose, stars came out … and even the dawn as it emerged through the morning mists. Fair play - the photos are stunning and the location was exceptional. One very friendly but over-stretched staff member. Good French breakfast.
