Very nice guest room but not in my cannons
Bed and Breakfast located extra muros, Douceur des Mées remains perfectly located less than two kilometers from the center of Les Mées. It is also a wellness centre and the place manager, Alexandra, gives massages.
It is a large house, with swimming pool and garden, surrounded by lush vegetation, composed of a few bedrooms (five or six, I think, including two upstairs). Each bears a soothing name, like the one attributed to me: The secret garden.
Check-in is from 4 pm and check-out at 10 am, which I think is too early as breakfast can be taken until 10 am (Alexandra is accommodating as to the breakfast time as she can serve it earlier than 08 am). Alexandra is a welcoming entrepreneur, smiling and not stingy with good advice, like referring me to a pizzeria for my evening dinner (delicious pizza). Please read the confirmation email sent to you if you book online. Alexandra can be in care, this email explains how to access your room in her absence.
My room was very comfortable and smelled good cocooning. Beautiful wooden flooring, an efficient radiator in winter, a bed decorated with a fine veil, soft colors on the walls, two grey carpets imitation sheepskin at the foot, two stools with gray mouute seat as night tables, a handcuffed light gray duvet (a large additional blanket is in the beautiful wooden cabinet) ensure maximum comfort. I liked the fact that the curtains are tuned to the bed quilt. The decoration is very tasteful and sweats the tranquility.
A wrought iron desk with a small courtesy tray (on which you will find, in particular, Les Deux Marmottes infusions) is provided. On the bed, I found a small bottle of water and a pouch with a cute shower gel, soap, a mini tube of toothpaste and a cotton pad to remove makeup. The towels were nicely folded on the bed. This attention makes a difference.
The bedding is soft and the wooden shutters allow to let no rays of light pass. The night spent in this guest room was particularly relaxing.
My room had a nice view of the large pool. In the middle of summer, with the bushy vegetation, the moments spent around the beach must be delicious and ensure optimal relaxation. The room is completed by a large terrace. But I noticed that it was common with the next room.
Bathroom and toilet are located upstairs, outside the room. I understood that they were, like the terrace, common with the next room. I found it special because if the room I had arranged for one or two people, the next one is a family room. In the middle of the season, if you have to share the place with a family, it must require stewardship. And questioning intimacy somewhat.
Breakfast is perfect for people who like to eat sugar and fat in the morning: a croissant, white bread, butter, Nutella, Kellogg’s Corn Flakes cereal or Quaker brand muesli, as well as cow’s milk yogurt. For my part, I’m not a fan of this food, luckily I was able to enjoy a handful of raisins and a banana, which is quite spartan. On the other hand, beverage level, loose tea, chocolate powder, coffee, pressed fruit juice are quality. Another particularity is to do your dishes and manage your waste. There is no garbage can in the room for this purpose. Traveling a lot, I admit I never had to deal with this by paying for the night and breakfast.
In the absolute, this bed and breakfast is absolutely delicious, perfectly maintained and, notwithstanding the breakfast, Douceur des Mées is very qualitative. But that doesn't match my guns. I prefer to have my own bathroom or shower, my own toilet and have a more varied breakfast, even if it means paying more naturally. The night is still 90 euros.

A nugget in an idyllic setting
Peaceful and resourceful place.
The rooms are tastefully decorated as well as all exteriors.
The owner Alexandra is lovely and helpful , she also offers dinner in the evening in her olive tree garden which is very nice.
We also recommend massages that are of excellent quality.
In short it is a must not miss address!!

la chambre etait impecable, malgrés mon erreure de reservation, la responssable a etait d'une gentiesse exeptionnelle. Même pour le repas du soir, ou c'est elle qui a ete chercher ma pizza. je recommande vraiment.
