Aggressiveness, indifference, and a failed dinner. Never again!
Tired, we decided to have an aperitif and dinner at the hotel. Almost a fatal mistake.
Seated in front of the bar, the servers (because yes, there is a lot of staff) pass by repeatedly, calmly. Not one to take our order... I had to get up and place the order. I overlook the Ricard that the server was about to serve in a whiskey glass, or the fact that I had to ask for peanuts (not offered by default), it is a detail.
The dinner: a certain amount of time to take our order, I indicate that I would like a glass of wine, the menu is placed on the table... It remained there throughout the meal without anyone asking me about my choice.
Chicken skewers (excuse me, 1 chicken skewer) with maroilles sauce (in a very small cup) and fries... A lot of fries... 4/5 pieces of chicken but a lot, a lot of fries. Unfortunately, soft. In the North! What a sadness. I ask a young woman for more sauce. (I specify that there were very few people at dinner). 5 minutes, 10 minutes... I get up to go see the young woman: "ah, yes, I will go check!!!"
But the worst is yet to come.
Dinner finished. The server clears the table, we stay at the table for a few minutes... We leave.
At 10:30 PM (yes, 10:30 PM), a call from a very angry, very unfriendly man, who gives us the order (almost) to come settle the meal. We explain to him that we are in bed, that we have provided our room number and that we plan to pay in the morning. The famous: I am coming to settle the bill. Nothing works.
It seems that our years as loyal customers of the Accor group count for nothing. We are suspected of being thieves.
I specify that nothing was asked of us: to sign the bill or pay directly after the meal. We had indeed waited.
I am going down to settle this. And there, once again, that very, very angry gentleman, immensely unfriendly and quite accusatory.
So, it's over. Never again at this hotel where we used to go during our visits to Lille.
And I admit that my first instinct for our future travels will no longer be to go to the "All" site.
