The best 1 star hotel
Well.. its ok to sleep in, would give 2 stars. Totally at the city center, ok clean. Minus - so so working wifi, no elevator and homeless people by the hotel door. Would choose it again. Good value of the money

Great Location
On arrival (on Motorcycles ) we were a bit dubious about this Hotel but on entering and climbing the stairs to reception we were greeted by two lovely Ladies who made us most welcome.The rooms were acceptable,clean and tidy,the shower worked with good hot water and the window overlooked the main square.This made it very noisy until about three in the morning,drunken folks enjoying them selves ! It was during a very hot spell so we had the windows open !! McDonalds across the square open all night I believe,didn't help. Nice cafes and restaurants close by so no need to use the bikes which was good.We would stay again but with the windows closed !!

Great central location that is cheap, but must be clear about expectations
We decided on this hotel for two main reasons: price and location. Prices for hotels in Lyon seemed to be pricey what they offered and for the time of year, so our choices were limited. We wanted to go budget (about 50 Euros a night for both) and be able to reach the city and old part of town by foot. Although we had read the reviews and saw some photos of the place before arriving, we were still pretty surprised by its standing. It is a very, very basic place in a building that is somewhat run-down, and with bed covers and decorations that scream out being old and out of date. The place actually reminds me of very humble, common-man's, old NY apartments.
The location is perfectly central (could not be better, actually!), one gets all that one needs as accomodation and the place is old and unattractive--even a bit depressing--but it is clean and the price is unbeatable (especially compared to others equally central). The staff members and reception were very nice and accommodating, and the free wifi internet was surprisingly good. The toilets are shared (one per floor, it seems) and rooms have a shower and sink (at least ours did). Note that there are no elevators (one needs to walk up two flights of stairs from ground to first floor to come to the reception) and the rooms are one floor above or beyond (I think up to a fifth floor). There is also no air conditioner, but at least the windows are large and can bring in some air when it gets too warm.
We would invest more money in a better hotel and room the next time we visit Lyon, because we would like a bit more of comfort, but that does not mean we would not recommend this place for all those for which location and price is important--as long as one is very honest about the expectations.

Nice service
We had reservations here but at arrival the hotel was overbooked. They immediately called another, a bit better hotel (hotel d'Azur with 2 instead of 1 star) and asked us if we wanted to stay there for the price we agreed for this hotel. The other hotel was a 5 minute walk away on an even better location. So they solved the over-booking well.

Touring Holiday
This hotel does not claim to be anything above its station and I would consider it without any star rating. You get exactly what you expect for a budget hotel and in the centre of Lyon, for the price it appears a bit of a bargain. Our room was functional. However, when our friends who stayed with us two floors above us couldn't get into their landing let alone their room imagine our surprise when the owner refused to come out in order to rectify the problem. He literally left them stranded without clothes or any facilities. They found another hotel and had to return next day to D'anaiy to collect their belongings. The manager refused to refund them. Avoid this hotel at your peril!

Chers clients, nous sommes désolés pour le désagrément occasionné mais nous vous avons relogé dans un hôtel 2 étoiles pour le même tarif et nous vous avons offerts les petits-déjeuners. Nous avons eu effectivement un problème de serrure au niveau deu 3ème étage auquel nous avons remédié dès le lendemain. Ce sont des choses qui arrivent malheureusement. Cordialement. JM PONS
