Bordering Cévennes National Park, this 3-star hotel offers free Wi-Fi access and rooms with an LCD TV. It is a 5-minute walk from Mende Cathedral and a 30-minute drive from the A75, which goes directly to Millau. The rooms at Hôtel Urbain V are decorated in a simple style and also provide a work desk. The en suite bathroom is complete with a bathtub and a hairdryer. A buffet breakfast is served every morning in the dining room, while a continental breakfast is served in the comfort of guest rooms. The propertys Provencal-style brasserie restaurant is just a 5-minute walk from the main hotel. Free private parking is no longer available as it is under construction , An outdoor parking is available however it is unsecured . Luggage storage and newspapers are available at reception. Doesn't deserve the 3 stars
The welcome is shy and the person is not very smiling or welcoming, although polite.
Room at 102€ per night, certainly spacious but decor in need of review, a little outdated. No hot water (just lukewarm), no shower gel available (the dispenser is empty and the little that was supposed to be in it leaked over the edge of the bathtub leaving a disgusting and very dry mark, I wonder when the cleaning was done...), one of the towels is dirty! (Brown stain....).
On the bedroom side, two sockets are available but one of them works with the bedroom light (if you are traveling as a couple, you will have to sleep with the light on if you want to charge two phones at night...). The furniture is stained with marker marks which could easily be removed with a little elbow grease. No air conditioning (at the price of the room!) even though it is still very hot in the first part of the night.
The bedding is correct and the area very quiet, at least a good point.
Breakfast at 12€ is average. Fairly average coffee maker coffee. There is a choice but there is a lack of yogurt and the products (particularly cold meats) are of average quality. The pastries are not bad. On the other hand, whoever seems to be the boss could avoid blowing his nose before touching the breakfast bread...
In short, passing through for one night but very disappointed.

outdated hotel...just a **
the room is without air conditioning, the low-end TV (old LG) without canal+ (as shown)...and ESPECIALLY no hot water (3 nights without it, my signaling has not changed anything) and the icing on the cake ...THE 10% COMMERCIAL DISCOUNT granted when booking MORE NEWS on the day of payment
The only positive points are the size of the room and its location.
But hotel at the end of its cycle like its owners!!!!!
