Gorgeous hotel in the old part of Montpellier.
A beautiful hotel in the best location in Montpellier.
From the minute we arrived we received incredible service from the staff, and this continued throughout our stay. Lea (in Reception/Guest Services) was outstanding. So friendly, always ready to help and provide valuable information.
Our room (no. 16) was lovely and spacious with a beautiful view and a very comfortable bed.
The food in the restaurant was amazing and we were able to eat on the terrace overlooking the pretty square in front of the hotel.
I would 100% recommend this hotel.

Relaxing stay in this beautiful historic hotel, good service
We stayed at Hôtel Richer de Belleval for three nights in July, having stayed here several times before.
This time we had a quiet room overlooking the back of this beautiful historic hotel, with excellent blackout curtains, effective air conditioning, and a very comfortable bed. We were also pleased to see a noticeable improvement in the reception service. The staff consistently greeted us with a smile whenever we entered or left the hotel, making the atmosphere much warmer and more welcoming than on previous visits.
Our only minor criticism concerns the valet service. Although we texted our arrival 10 minutes in advance as instructed, the valet was not ready when we arrived. In a city like Montpellier, where driving can be challenging due to the many one-way streets, this created some unnecessary stress. It would have been better for us to call ahead of time.
Overall, however, this was another excellent stay, and we look forward to returning.

We picked one of the most exquisite stays in Montpellier. A hotel built in the former mansion of botanist Pierre Richer de Belleval.
it’s an experience built inside a former private mansion with Michelin-level dining and art woven into every room. So the plan here was not to rush… but to savor- Our experience was elegant, sensory, and deliciously indulgent.
We were in the best possible location—everything radiates from here. Place de la Canourgue - One of the most romantic squares in the city, right outside our hotel.
Inside the hotel :
Le Jardin des Sens is the Michelin-starred gastronomic experience no one should miss! Expect Artistic plating, Deep Mediterranean flavors
and Slow, intentional dining with delicious wine pairing.
Bar L’Élytre is the hotel’s dramatic, jewel-box salon bar: part historic mansion, part cabinet of curiosities, part theatrical Parisian-style cocktail lounge.
La Canourgue is an elegant, high-design French brasserie inside the historic courtyard. It sits beneath a glass roof surrounded by soaring Palms, original architectural details: ornate moldings, cornices, crystal chandeliers, high ceilings, and the warm patina of the old town.
It was not a generic five-star room. It had soul. Overall It felt like we were staying inside a living piece of history and French art.

Beautiful, creative and very welcoming hotel
This is my second time at this hotel two years apart and I find the staff to be some of the most thoughtful and friendly of anywhere I’ve ever stayed. I’ve been with a girlfriend and now my daughter and they make every effort to help make reservations and are always willing to go above and beyond to make the stay special. I would highly recommend this hotel, it’s beautiful and creative and very welcoming.

An authentic Relais Chateaux in the middle of old town
An authentic Relais Chateaux in the middle of old town, difficult to access by car. Very nicely restored building, beautiful bar and restaurant, great food. Rooms are nice and big. Super friendly professional staff.
