Nice, see you again soon.
We had focused mainly on sun and access to beaches and cultural sights in planning our visit to Nice and not a lot on Nice’s history. But our arrival at Hotel Suisse on a typically sunny morning coincided with a small but dignified parade and ceremony including placing of wreaths in commemoration of 8th May 1945, which was a welcome reminder.
We loved Nice and I cannot imagine a better place from which to enjoy the city than Hotel Suisse. The Hotel overlooks the beach, with more or less immediate access, and the old city with its flower market, its many colorful shops and variety of restaurants and night life is just outside the door. Major museums and cultural sights are within 10 minute cab rides.
In addition to Hotel Suisse’ superb location, it is well designed, quiet, and well managed. Staff are courteous, helpful, and professional.
We would mention in particular Migena and her colleagues who managed the lovely breakfast room and exceptional breakfasts with cheerful efficiency.
We look forward to our next stay with Hotel Suisse.

it is definitely not worth what we paid for and it’s a very old hotel. Do not stay there if at all possible Alcoh
we had booked our hotels both in Romy and Nice American Express, the first one in Rome was fabulous the second one in Nice was not. we travel quite a bit and stay at nice hotels, so we know what to look for. I don’t know how this hotel ever got four stars! The location is fabulous. The views are great, but the hotel itself is very old and is not up to four star standards. One elevatorcan only fit two maximum maybe three people. The rooms are small, very small. The room on our cruise ship was bigger if that gives you an idea.
I do not recommend this hotel at all there are better choices for a lot less. Of course, I found this out after we checked in.
Hi myself, was ready to leave and complain to the Front Desk, but by the way of their attitude, they did not care. no restaurant except for breakfast continental. For about $30. Of course we did not eat there. There were a lot of choices much less and way better than them. I spoke to some of the locals specially a drivers and they agreed and they knew about this hotel. The only thing it’s got going forward is the view. I will complain to American Express and tell him to please take it off their recommended hotel site.

Guests looking for more space and additional comforts may prefer our higher room categories, several of which offer larger layouts as well as private balconies overlooking the sea.
We also regret any inconvenience you may have encountered during your stay. In particular, we recently changed our payment terminal provider and experienced temporary difficulties processing certain American Express cards. Fortunately, this issue has now been fully resolved.

Nice in Nice
This is a lovely hotel along the promenade overlooking the ocean. Our room was a bit small, but the beautiful balcony overlooking the sea was fabulous! Staff were very nice and helpfully gave us dinner recommendations. You are encouraged to have breakfast in your room on the balcony, but we really enjoyed going down to the buffet and lingering over our cappuccini while watching people swimming, running, and walking along the beach. (You also get a selection of hot food if you go down to breakfast, which my husband enjoyed!)
We did take one quick swim, but found that the rocky beach was quite painful to walk on—bring water shoes!

Minimalist Vibe with Maximalist Views
It’s all about location and views for this hotel! Ask for a balcony room and soak up the vibrant life and ocean sounds along the Promenade des Anglais. You literally cannot get a better view of Nice and the Côte d’Azur.
Room itself is..cozy, but layout and slim minimalist furnishings maximize the space. Bathroom is a bit dated, but totally functional. Use caution getting in and out of the tub/shower, it’s a big step and the glass half-panel wall swings inward, so don’t try to rely on it too much for support. Cleanliness is a 10/10. Bed and bedding also great. In all, it’s minimalistic, but the important things are here: it’s clean, you’ll get a good night’s sleep, and you’ll have views over Nice that are well worth the room rate.
Courtesy Note to my Fellow Travelers: Be respectful of the small entry/lobby area; don’t be like the Americans who came in after us and unpack your suitcase to change your shoes where people are trying to enter and exit the hotel. There’s a little bar area set back from the front desk, and during the day it’s a better spot for reassessing your needs if you arrive early and your room isn’t ready.
