Quality Establishment with Perfect Welcoming

A very nice establishment in an enchanting and bucolic setting. Welcoming is exceptional, the rooms, bathrooms and bedding are very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool, the quiet of the establishment, the garden and the scent of moonlight roses. Thank you for this short but quality stay.

Hotels.com booked me into a hotel that was closed for the winter! I arrived in the evening after a long journey to find everything closed but for the help of the caretaker I would have been stranded and seriously at risk. I had to find another hotel in Les Eyzies and pay 70 euros for a taxi to get there.

DREAM MANOR ON THE EDGE OF THE DORDOGNE

Perfectly restored manor with an unusual estate.
Remarkable trees including a 400-year-old magnolia, several sequoias, including one 250 years old, and several cedars from Lebanon, including one 200 years old and trees planted by Napoleon 3 for his mistress.
On the banks of the Dordogne with a forest on the other bank.
15m swimming pool. Vegetable garden with vegetables served at the restaurant.
Ideal location for exploring the Perigord Noir, 30 kilometers from Bergerac and 30 kilometers from Sarlat.
Perfectionist owner, very responsive, very cordial. And who obviously likes the story.
We highly appreciated this exceptional stay in the nature of Perigord.
For a vacation to extend!

Just 4 words: STAY AWAY FROM IT.

Advertises itself as a four star hotel but in effect is extremely far from it. The rooms are very shabby, cleaning very superficial, decoration appears from the 90ies, wi-fi extremely weak so much so that our TV was breaking up non stop, Tennis court probably not renewed since the ages of Borg and McEnroe ! To top it all up you pretty much make breakfast on your own with coffee machines that you would see in a railway station and no personnel to wipe the rain out of the chairs if you happen to have breakfast or lunch outside. Funny anecdote, our hair dyer was one that I use to see in the Ibis hotels over 20 years ago ! You do expect (and that is part of the experience) going into a French Manoir a touch of authenticity and old charm but the shabbiness of the place has nothing to do with that. It's really a shame because the place could be quite nice with the required investment and a 101 course on client management
