Quaint hotel very close to the train station. Had a wonderful family room to fit us and our 2 teens comfortably. Clean and well kept. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We stayed during April and fortunately it was only for one night, so it was tolerable for that reason only. Three of the lights didn't work (either side of the double bed and the one above the mirror) making the room overall dark, relying on what lighting was left. None of the USB sockets worked. The floor surface was a cheap laminated wood type; but as you can see from the photos, has seen better days. The room is tired and needs repainting. Reception staff on arrival (Axelle) was brilliant; however reception staff on departure didn't even apologise when told about the lighting issue, merely said "thank you for telling us". Another point regarding room 111 - you have to step sideways between the bottom of the bed and a wall to navigate to the other side of the double bed as the room is so cramped.

Good trip, stayed 10 days

Hotel met our expectations! A/C worked great, no problems with internet. Family of 3 adults. Transportation from Nord du Gare was easy. Staff was friendly. Shower head was not tight, but could hold it just fine. We did not do the breakfast, plenty of boulangeries to choose from. We used #4 metro the most to get around Paris and occasionally #7 a 10 minute walk.

Unsanitary bathroom conditions

We stayed at Avalon Hotel Paris Gare du Nord for one night after having a great experience at Avalon Cosy Hotel earlier in our trip. Unfortunately, this stay was a huge disappointment.
After my husband showered, we discovered the shower drain was severely clogged. Water pooled in the shower and eventually drained, bringing up black debris, hair, and other unsanitary material. Every time we used the bathroom sink, dirty water backed up into the shower again. It was clearly a maintenance issue that should have been caught before the room was rented.
The front desk staff were polite and genuinely tried to help. A staff member attempted to fix the drain, but the problem remained. We were told no comparable rooms were available, and the only alternative was for me to use the shower in a different room.
What disappointed us most was the lack of response afterward. I emailed management with photos and videos documenting the issue and even followed up weeks later, but never received any acknowledgment.
It's unfortunate because we had such a positive experience at Avalon Cosy Hotel. The front desk staff deserve credit, but the condition of the room and the complete lack of follow-up from management left a very poor impression.

The hotel was generally well kept for such an old building. Just minor wear and tear so could do with a tidy up in some places. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really good quality and value for money - freshly baked bread and pastries, plenty of fruit, cereals, cheeses and meats, and even cooked stuff too so something for everyone. Beds were very comfortable so we had a good night's sleep too
