Fantastic Location & Great Value
Stayed at Hôtel Duo for three nights and overall really enjoyed our stay. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Paris and within walking distance of plenty of restaurants, bars and sights. The staff were great throughout and the hotel itself was very clean. Our room was on the smaller side, but for the location and price we thought it was great value.
The only downside was the street noise. We were in a first-floor room facing the street and on our first two nights there were people outside shouting and making noise until around 7am, which made it very difficult to sleep. We asked about moving rooms but unfortunately there wasn't another available. Thankfully, our final night was much quieter.
I'd recommend requesting a higher floor or a room away from the street if possible. Other than the noise, we had a great stay and would definitely come back.

Dear Management of Hotel Duo,
I’ve stayed at Hotel Duo several times over the years and have always enjoyed my stays. This time, however, I found a tired, old Paris hotel…so disappointing in so many ways.
The lobby is looking dated and worn - the carpet in the bar area was so old and unclean.
The elevator hasn’t been updated for some time - the wood was severely scratched from years of use and no refinishing.
What was once a tres-chic bar, is now a self-service operation. Most of the liquor bottles were empty and not replenished regularly.
We had a special dinner reservation at Le Grand Vefour one evening and we wanted our clothing to be pristine. In our room was a card with a QR code to be scanned. We were assured that our request (for the location and use of an iron and ironing board) would be handled promptly… the response came two days after the special event….
Having gotten no electronic response, I went to the front desk and tried to get the use of an iron and ironing board, only to find out that I had to go to the basement for the “stationary” ironing area.
What used to be a top-of-the-line Miele steam iron was now a broken, inoperable and entirely unusable (due to lack of cleaning and maintenance.
The bedroom itself showed equal signs of wear in the toilet room, bath room (mold on the ceiling) and the bedroom itself.
The staff were as helpful as they could be, but it was clear they were understaffed and unprepared for guests.
I realized that I was there in August – a time of vacation for many Parisiennes, but hotels and restaurants still had to cater to the many, many visitors to the great city.
One evening we returned to the hotel at around 23:00 – we rang the bell repeatedly with no response. Finally, I had to find the phone number and call. We were out on the pavement for nearly 20 minutes, along with other guests.
It’s such a shame that deferred maintenance seems to be the order of the day…
On our last day in Paris, we were told that we had to switch rooms, due to a booking problem. So, we had to return to our room, pack quickly and vacate our room. Now hot, sweaty and frustrated, we brought all our things back to the lobby and were told they would be delivered to our “new” room later in the day.
Upon our return we were told that our things were back in the room we had just vacated! Imagine our frustration in having to spend a precious morning doing this futile exercise.
I have been in management most of my life and I know I would appreciate this kind of feedback. I only hope the same is true for you.
Hotel Duo is a treasure in a most excellent locale – I hope that what was once a beautiful, chic, modern boutique hotel can continue.
I won’t be visiting again.

Pay more for less
Hote is not clean at all. Room is small. Maquette old and stincky.
Shower old
Breakfast not a lot of choice. Very expensive for what they offer.
Close to the gay area.

Great Location with Room for Comfort Improvements
The highlights of this hotel are the great location (right in the gateway to the Marais) and the staff (who greeted us with a smile each time we came and went). The hotel also has a very good breakfast offering.
However, I have to knock this hotel because of inconsistency in both water and room temperature. It was extremely frustrating to be taking a shower and to have the water go from scalding hot to icy cold in a matter of seconds. I spoke with my colleagues who stayed in the hotel and they had the same experience. Additionally, despite keeping the thermostat on the same temperature setting, I would return to the room on some days feeling like I was walking into a refrigerator (which was nice given the recent heat wave) while at other times feeling like I was walking into a sauna.

Location & Staff Excellent, room a good size & clean, towels & bedding good quality, nice shower gel and lotion etc. A/C worked well. Kettle & Coffee but no milk/creamer in room, mini fridge didn't get cold. Metro entrance right outside, and so many Cafes/Bars/ Bakeries in the area. Notre Dame 5 min walk. Would defo stay again.
