Wonderful
The concierge was very, very nice.
Room clean and bathroom equipped with high-quality cosmetics.
Furnishings modern and stylish.
The wonderful breakfast tasted excellent to us.
Breakfast was lovingly brought to the room in a picnic basket.
If we go to Paris again, it will only be here.

Overcharging City Tax
I queried this and was told it was correct.
I then checked city taxes on the French Paris government website which clearly states under 18 are not subject to city tax. Their own website also states under 18 do not pay tax.
I went back to reception who then admitted it was a mistake but they cannot issue a refund because the manager is on holiday.
I leave tomorrow and the staff are still not able to process a refund for the euros 50 they owe me! Not impressed.

Dramatic experience - we had to find an alternative solution with great inconvenience.
As soon as we entered the assigned room, an attic on the third and top floor of a building (without an elevator) with steep stairs covered in visibly worn carpet, we realized that the internal temperature was extremely high, certainly over 30 degrees, suffocating and therefore the air was unbreathable;
The air conditioning system with a single split unit above the entrance door was malfunctioning and completely insufficient to cool the room; In some parts, the roof was so low that it was difficult to access, such as in the bathroom itself. The ceiling wall was scorching hot. Furthermore, there was hair in the rooms and the presence of dirt; We all immediately had a strong feeling of discomfort, asphyxia, and claustrophobia.
The conditions of the room caused significant physical distress to all of us, with a feeling of fainting due to the excessive heat.
After our immediate complaint, the reception staff acknowledged that the room was excessively hot and, after about thirty minutes, offered us a second accommodation. However, this solution also proved inadequate, as it lacked an air conditioning system and was characterized by an internal temperature that was still unbearable.
Given the impossibility of staying in the rooms made available, we were forced, in order to protect our health, to independently find a different accommodation facility, incurring an additional financial expense.
Despite the inconvenience and the impossibility of staying overnight, the facility has not granted us any type of refund to date.
This very negative experience with Hôtel Helzear Montparnasse left a deep mark on us, because we were afraid of not finding an alternative facility in time.
I strongly advise everyone against booking this hotel; it was the worst accommodation facility, if we can even call it that, that I have ever been in.
